A woman tried to poison her daughter, daughter's boyfriend and grand daughter with bleach in ther macaroni, cause she does not "deserve" them....

Mom allegedly spikes macaroni with bleach

CORAOPOLIS, Pa. - A mother has been charged with trying to poison her adult daughter and her daughter's family after allegedly pouring bleach into their macaroni and cheese on Saturday night.

Nancy O'Donnell, 56, was charged with four counts each of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person, police said.

O'Donnell's daughter, Victoria Lynn O'Donnell, 24, was preparing dinner around 6:30 p.m. for her live-in boyfriend, Jamal Scott, 30, and their 6-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter. The four share a home with Nancy O'Donnell.

Victoria O'Donnell went upstairs while the food was cooking, and police said that when she came back downstairs, she could smell bleach in the food. She tried the macaroni and cheese and immediately spit it out after tasting the bleach, police said.

No one else tasted the food.

Victoria O'Donnell then confronted her mother about the allegedly tainted dinner. According to court records, Nancy O'Donnell said she wanted to sicken her daughter because "you don't deserve those children."

Police reported a strong odor of bleach when they arrived to investigate. Nancy O'Donnell later denied pouring bleach into the pasta, police said.

Nancy O'Donnell is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on $25,000 bond. A judge ordered that she receive a mental health evaluation.

Good Lord, what a crazy woman.

You know, this is bizarre. Once I was eating lunch at a nearby restaurant and would you believe that my macaroni smelled and tasted of bleach, too?! I am suspecting a disgruntled employee poured the bleach in the macaroni.

I wonder if this is partially a racial thing. Jamal Scott is almost certainly an African-American man. A bigoted (and nutty) white mother might tell her daughter that "you don't deserve" those kids.

Why wasn't she charged on four counts of attempted murder? And get her convicted before the mental evaluation!

wow........ what did the grandmother mean by the statement "she did not deserve the children?" that does not sound racially motivated even if she did not like the boyfriend. its one thing when adults are insane, its truly heart breaking they always seem to have children.

That is just sick :( I'm glad she choose bleach over something less noticable though. At least the family did not actually eat it.

Because the stiffer the charge, the harder to get a conviction. (Yes, I have been watching too much Law and Order.) :p :D

Seriously though, I think that whole family dynamic needs to be explored. Let's see: young adult daughter with two small children living with her boyfriend in her mother's house? Is it possible that this woman is the victim of "elder abuse," or is this just a poorly handled case of being fed up?

It can be seen either way. She either was too good for her children or her children were too good for her. Either way she was going to kill the whole family.

LOL, Ms. M, that's not entirely true. There's obvious evidence of mental instability in this instance and I'm sure both the police and the DA took that into consideration. A truly calculating mind wouldn't have used something so obvious (ie smell) or made such delusional statements. Either way, it's a good thing nobody ate that stuff!!

You've read my mind once again Molly..no, a truly calculating mind is never obvious...always very subtle and manipulative.

Bizarre story! I do not see any racism in it though. May be the old woman was framed? Who knows! Based on what I know it seems like the daughter, her boyfriend and her kids were living off of the poor lady.

Whatever the circumstances of the "poor old lady" there is NO excuse or reason to hurt innocent children. Our nation's children already at great risk when they step out the door, is so horrible they are mistreated and abused also inside the home.

Why weren't the children taken from the home? I mean, if people think that the grandmother was framed, whose to say that the parents of the children are mentally competent to care for the children? Would you not suspect that they are in danger also?
