Bodhi Tree 12-08-2005, 02:57 AM Everyone including myself always thought that French men prefer skinny, blonde women. Wrong.
According to a survey done recently:
43% prefer the pleasantly plump
39% skinny
7% heavy
3% underweight
56% prefer brunette
58% of French women are convinced that men prefer blondes
There are more adds that include pleasantly plump women, more and more women proudly show their plumpness and last year there was a huge publicity campaigne on television and posters in the steet and métro with a group of plump women in their underwear showing off their bodies proudly and joyfully.
Gaud ! we can really enjoy that mousse au chocolat without the Mia Culpa :D
Harrison 12-08-2005, 03:54 AM Everyone including myself always thought that French men prefer skinny, blonde women. Wrong....
Wow, Loucine! :D So many French guys sharing my taste!
"43% prefer the pleasantly plump and....
7% heavy"
This is impressive! Maybe these preferences would include someone like Camryn Mannheim, one of my favorite "proud to be plump" celebrities? :)
Her figure (below) is similar to my wife's. What a winner!

I hope I wasn't confusing you with slang.
Bodhi Tree 12-08-2005, 04:23 AM Oh Harrison, don't you think I read all of your threads ? :D
Now the sad part, in the same survey they discovered that some men choose skinny women just for the image, thinking they will look good in the eyes of society and friends, but then they cheat on the side with plump women in order to satisfy their real desire.
Damn! what fashion magazines and adds can do to you

Loucine, that's horrible, I agree. Unfair to the plump lady who has to settle for second place, and unfair to the skinny lady who's being used as a trophy.
I think this mental illness must be due, in large part, to those evil fashion designers. When I next visit Paris, we must capture some and beat them! :D

WOW! I like that survey. Thats cool that the pleasantly plumpier side is getting positive attention. I definately do agree with you that some men are more attracted to larger, curvier women. I mean, in the sense you were speaking of. I personally know of fellas who have absolutely perfect (in society eyes) barbie doll types for partners. And they have "stepped out" with the more bountiful women. It is a shame that it is the mentality of some to think that only one look of woman is all thats acceptable for being high up in the worlds ranks of whos who. But, thats just the way it is.
Oh yeah Loucine, Im 'bout ta hit that mousse au chocolat ! mmmmmm... :p
In Your Eyes 12-08-2005, 08:20 AM That's hot!!
Give me an ice cream cone and move me to france lol
I am so sick of the anorexia in society...if I would have been alive with Marilyn Monroe, I would have been banging, I like have her body only I think my chest is bigger and she was a sex symbol. Now that would probably make her a plus size model, love her.

Bodhi Tree 12-08-2005, 08:47 AM Well if you like French men, then you should all come over here. I'll provide the mousse au chocolat :D
I have a minor problem though. Even though I am a brunette and slightly on the pleasantly plump side, I'm not crazy about French men at all :(

Loucine, I am happily married, but my curiousity is peaked now. :D Just wondering what is different about French Fellas? Besides the obvious physical traits. I have never known a French man. Are you speaking of personality or the physical traits or customs that you are not attracted too? I am just curious.

Hard to tell kindanice. Maybe because I'm curious by nature and men from other cultures that I don't know much about interest me?
I've dated many men from different cultures and as soon as I'm attracted to them I start researching on their culture and read anything that I can get my hands on.
Guess, I know the French too well
As hard as I try, I'm just not attracted to French men.

All different types, IYE. Also you will find names like Garcia and Nicoletti as French last names because many Italians and Spaniards have immigrated to France over the years.
It's a multi-racial society, also.
Anyway, here is Nicolas Sarkozy, the French Minister of the Interior. His ancestry, however is Hungarian on at least one parent's side.

In Your Eyes 12-08-2005, 01:09 PM come to think of it...aren't there a lot of African people living in france as well?? Like of African decent?
I wonder if that contributes, I remember our other thread of African men being into full figured women.

YES!! One of France's most famous celebrities is of African ancestry (on father's side I think). He is Yannick Noah, a former tennis star.
From what I've read, he's one of the most popular French celebrities ever.

Bodhi Tree 12-08-2005, 01:40 PM And here's Thomas. A very good friend of mine. Also a composer and singer, not as famous as Benjamin but popular enough to google and find a picture to post.

There was an online news article a while back with a photo of a cute married lady and her family living in the banlieues. I'll see if I can find it.

LOL ok, here's that famous Dove add. I'm afraid French plumpness doesn't go much beyond that.
Then there's my friend Valerie of course. We call her chest a balcony :D

whisper 12-11-2005, 11:52 AM Loucine, my husband is French (Montigney Le Brentonneux), and he definately prefers plump over slender. He's the first man I've been with who does.
Raven Magdalene 12-11-2005, 08:49 PM Sweet, although I don't consider Frenchmen as being the connoisseur's of women but nice to know nonetheless.

Bodhi Tree 12-12-2005, 02:08 AM Your husband seems to be a very sweet Frenchman whisper with very good taste :)
Interesting point Raven, but I wonder in which country men are connaisseurs of women. It's true, as IYE mentioned earlier that men in Africa and the ME prefer women who are round. I remember in Cairo people felt sorry for me because they thought I'm too thin and therefore ill. They kept trying to feed me. LOL
I'm just glad to know that men in general appreciate women as they are. After a certain age and after having had children, if we don't torture ourselves at the gym and deprive ourselves from sweets and wine, most of us will gain some weight, have a soft round belly etc...
I just think it's time for fashion and advertising to leave us, mature women alone and to allow us to enjoy our natural anatomy instead of trying to look 20 again.

I soooooo agree with you, Loucine. It would be wonderful to fully be accepted by fashion and advertising just as we are! ......with our "soft round bellies"..... :D
