Move and Miscarriage

Haven't been here for a while. Just posted a thread and it ate it---I don't know where it went!

My YM husband and I (it will be a year in January--whee hee!) moved to another state so I could accept a job promotion. The move was stressful and I got pregnant at the end of summer. We were happy about it, my YM really likes children and expressed recently that he wanted one with me.

After the move, before I started my first day of work, I had a natural miscarriage at 10-11 weeks. It was traumatic and very painful. I seemed to get over it pretty well emotionally, but I was dragging for a while. We are going to try again, but I'm a little worried (I'm 41 now). It seems that once you get older, you loose so much time and its precious when it comes to having a kid. We are going to go for it one more time. We learned through this process that many women have gone through miscarriages, more than I realized. Some still managed to have kids, some didn't. It seems fairly common. We don't want to adopt--I know a couple who lost their adopted child after a year to the biological father. I couldn't deal with that.

We are a little isolated now in a new place without any friends since we've only been here a few months, but we have each other, and we have a strong foundation to build on. Right now, even after all of this, I feel confident in our future together.

Merry Christmas

Susie

I think you don't need to worry that you will have the same adoption fiasco that your pal had. It sounds like she did not have a good attorney or agency handling it in the first case. They would have made sure they had the right bio dad, and that he was willing to relinquish. So, it's still open to you. Don't close that door. But also, you may get lucky with your wish to carry a child.
Just wait and see!

So sorry, Susie! :( But, keep on trying as soon as you are emotionally ready. I have several friends who had miscarriages and got pregnant again within a year. A friend of mine just miscarried a few weeks ago. She is your age. She is going to try again as soon as she is ready.

Hi Susie, sorry about the miscarriage. I wanted to say, dont forget the idea of adopting. My husband and I have a beautiful child from adopting. She came to us when she was 6 months old. Now she is a beautiful strong and happy 6year old. So sometimes it can be a positive. I also have lots of friends who have had their children after the age of 40. One friend has 3 children after the age of 45. She didnt get married until she was around 43. All the children are healthy. They are a beautiful family. :)

Aw, what a lot of upheaval. Hang in there. Just thought I'd let you know that my oldest sister had many miscarriages - interspersed between having her 4 children.

i too am sorry for you loss, please stop trying to figure out what God has planned for you in the children dept. let yourself open to the fact that a child is coming into your life, one way or another and it will be a great success. your mommies heart has been softened to a point that you will make the mommie of all time, i pray that your success comes soon.
