Sofie Dog has lost the will to live!

Vet says I can't give her any human food anymore unless its boiled chicken and white rice. My man finally got the point of "no human food anymore" when she alternately blew chunks and fudge all over the den after they split a box of Entemanns.

It seems she's lost the will to do anything anymore. She used to sit near the doorway, not quite begging...but more...hoping during dinner time. Now she hops on her bed and looks the other way.

I feel like an ogre...but the $250 vet bills every 6 months to deal with her colitis was wearing thin.

Hehe...she's pouting in the corner. She'll come out of it....maybe...unless she's stubborn!

Is she interested in doggy treats? My grad advisor always had doggy treats around (even at the table during dinner) and if the dog was beggin, she'd get a treat.

I'm tough with my doggies, no treats or anything is given to them when I'm eating. They get treats after (maybe) if they are good - mostly because I get annoyed with the constant staring of a begging dog, and I'd get really tired of tripping over them in the kitchen.

Me, too, Cabin! Actually, my dogs just converted from strictly OUTdoor dogs for the last year to INdoor dogs. :eek: It's been a funny few weeks for all of us transitioning!! EGADS.

They are both beggars! I glare at my kids to not even look twice at them when they beg... if they are good, patient dogs, they will get what's leftover (provided it is safe for them) or a treat.

Litical keeps trying to spoil them. Says Baron won't eat at all if we don't put "broth" in his dry food. I said, "He will... when he gets hungry enough!" The hell if I'm putting broth in his food everyday. :rolleyes: I refuse to spoil my kids, why would I spoil my DOGS? ROFLAO.

Viva, I'm sorry your Sofie has been put on a "strict" dog food diet. That's gotta be hard on her. Give her some time. She'll get used to her new reality. Try to add other flavored dog foods to her selection, just to keep things interesting for her ~ t'would be my suggestion.

I, personally, don't get why both my dogs think *I* am the "alpha male." They follow me around like I'm going out of style or something and listen to no one but ME. Which I don't get, to be honest.

She NEVER got human food from me. If she got treats, they were of the milk bone variety.

Its my fiance that really was out of control with her. He say stuff like...if I just give her some, maybe she'll leave me alone.
