hypocrite?

God you are going to hate me all for saying this as im dating a ym,i dont normally 'chase' them this was accident... but i some times have a problem with really older men with alot younger women like they only go for them and prey on them...my mum is 51 and guys her age think she is too old,the young ones chase her my brother and i told her hey if its good enough for them....like i said dont want to offend anyon,anyone else have opinion on this?

I think we all need to get past our own stereo-types about relationships in general. Intergenerational or Interracial or even Intersexual (LOL). What two consenting adults do with each other is their own business.

BUT, especially when you are involved in a somewhat unconventional situation yourself, it is definitely hypocritical to get miffed seeing other similar situations on the opposite spectrum. YES, some older men dig younger women and get involved with them. So what? Sometimes its a very good matching. Probably about as often as some of us older women with our younger men. These kinds of relationships aren't that much less likely to work out than ANY relationship... just has different challanges.

I think maybe you can go over to the YW/OM side and get a good perspective on those relationships and help burn any of the stereotypes you still hold in the bonfire they belong... maybe by helping to support THEM and get to know them? We've got some very wonderful young women on this forum who prove that their circumstances are no different than ours and they fell into a good intergenerational relationship through no fault of their own and thier OM are not "dirty old men."
