Has anyone here ever had someone that they wanted to write to privately on this site, but they couldn't because that person has their options set so that you cannot write to them?

Not accepting pm's?TrueHeart 01-08-2006, 10:54 AM Has anyone here ever had someone that they wanted to write to privately on this site, but they couldn't because that person has their options set so that you cannot write to them? TrueHeart 01-08-2006, 04:18 PM No, the person I want to write to isn't accepting messages from anyone. I'll have to try to encourage them to change that because it's clear we should be talking privately ;) Optionally, they could write to me first...that would be nice too. greeneyedgirl 01-09-2006, 06:41 PM ok, here's the 2nd thread off the original.....have at it gang. Ray 59 01-09-2006, 07:15 PM There has been a couple of times I have sent pm/s and they didn't go through for some reason. Not sure why. TrueHeart 01-09-2006, 09:32 PM No well this person is not accepting any PMs from anyone....it says something like "This person has their options set not to accspt PMs" ... bummer  Charlotte 01-10-2006, 12:28 AM No well this person is not accepting any PMs from anyone....it says something like "This person has their options set not to accspt PMs" ... bummer  I have mine set to not accept private messages, it's just easier that way. I don't accept private messages from strangers on IRC either. I figure that if anybody has anything to discuss with me then it can be done publically, unless they have something to hide or want to have an intensely personal discussion, in which case, I have zero interest in interacting with them--thus the lack of availability :) Maybe the person that you are trying to send a message to doesn't even realize that their messages are being blocked :) Jo-Admin 01-10-2006, 04:08 AM I agree with the last part of Trish's message.... You have to select that option when you create your account....It's not the "standard" setup. I would just assume that person has their reasons for not wanting to correspond with anyone outside of out on the forum. TrueHeart 01-10-2006, 09:05 AM OK... Thanks everyone for the input! I originally posted this comment in a different thread, not here. It was a casual, trivial comment not meant to be so important! Unfortunately, the moderator moved that casual comment to here and made it into its own thread with my name as the thread starter! This gives it way more attention than I wanted it to have. I have been able to reach this person, and all is right with the world. Thanks again for the comments :) Ray 59 01-10-2006, 09:14 AM Good for you. Hope you find what everybody is looking for!!! ;) greeneyedgirl 01-10-2006, 09:21 AM OK... Thanks everyone for the input! I originally posted this comment in a different thread, not here. Thanks again for the comments :) yes, TH, you posted it in sexually speaking....not the correct forum for a question on pm's. and 3 comments (2 of them yours) in relation to your question, were moved out of that thread into an individual thread to try to gain you the information which you seemed to want. if you so desired this particular quandry to not recieve an answer, perhaps you could have mentioned that in your 3rd posting on this thread, instead of your 4th....or, gotten up with me in pm's? i don't find it unfortunate when a moderator tries to help a member out. to anyone who has a question or concern, in the futrure, do not continue to contribute to the thread, just get up with one of us and let us know that you would like the thread deleted. we try to help, not hinder. ya'll have a great day!
