In April, Oprah interviewed Maya Angelou on her 70+ birthday. Oprah
asked
her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television,
she said it was "exciting."
Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every
day...like
her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her
waist,
first. The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple
and
honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Maya Angelou said this:
"I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today,
life
does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she
handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled
Christmas
tree lights."
"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents,
you'll
miss them when they're gone from your life.
"I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as "making
a
life."

I always thought I dealt with the lemons of life very well, but after reading the following quote I realized that I still have a lot of work to do. ;)

Rainy days...I deal just fine. I've never lost my luggage, but I imagine it would upset me greatly, but I would never throw a fit and well.....the Christmas tree lights? We'll just say that I cut them off the tree one year. :o

ya that does mean alot. it matters how you deal with your problems and how you get through them that matters. but it will only make you stronger. i'm lucky to have women in my life that help me. i know there isn't any thing i can't do or get through with that special women by myside

I like Maya Angelou's outlook on life. I also try for the simple happiness of waking up in the morning.

Trish and Sdoah1972, I have never been angry with Christmas tree lights. At least not since I bought that pre-lit tree last year. Best lights I ever saw. :D

:p You see....I tried to pull a Trish and spin them off the tree. For Trish it worked and they came off in a ball. For me, they ended up wound tightly and in knots at the base of the tree. *shrugs* I felt I had no choice in the matter. :D Snip. Snip. It was rather liberating. :p
