It's happened again on Broad Rock Blvd, less than a 1/4 mile as the crow flies away from the original murder scene. Three adults, parents and an adult daughter murdered in their home. They arrested two guys in PA for this one, and the police aren't tying them together, but maybe we've all been way off base and this is two ******** on a murder spree? I don't know if the two black men had any acquaintance with the Harveys. They now have a gag order for investigators in this case. Gee, there is no shortage of suspects, is there?

Whoa - this is definitely a bad thing. I think it's safe to say that the friend may not be your suspect. There's too many murders - including children no less - in a short amount of time. There's definitely something at work here. I'll be shocked if it's more than one killer.

It's almost as if there's something that connects all of these people that nobody else knows about. If they're putting a gag on the investigators that shows us that they definitely know something we don't. They might have already made the connection and are trying to sort through the cuagmire.

Uh oh!

Yes, after this THIRD family killing in one week within a small area, I'd have to agree. No one is officially saying anything though. I can *off the record* say that I want whomever did these killings, all three of them, (or should I say all nine of them?) to fry, and normally I don't believe in the death penalty. But I think I might make an exception in these cases because of their heineousness.

Okay girls what's up???

there's been 9 deaths

involving 3 diff. FAMILIES?

and all within...what? miles? of each other...same city?

in what time frame?

also, do ya'll know what the murder rate per capita is for where this is happening?

where IS this happening?

with the threads being seperated and me not knowing the names of em and so forth.....i'm lost as a greased up goose on a frozen pond.

And she loves ya so much her liver hurts!!

You know, there was a Law & Order on with a storyline something like this a couple of years ago. It was something about these guys were paying mothers with small children to smuggle drugs into the country. SOmething happened where word got out and they were going around killing each family involved. Not saying that's what's going on here, but it DOES sound like all of these families might be connected somehow. . .

And, um, Trace, schwimmin' pool!

The death penalty is DEFINITELY called for!! I wondered about motive when I read that the young girls had their throats slit- that is not just a robbery..
Where was the 3rd scene??

Ok, Ali, if this article is true, and the police believe the first two were connected, we need to watch carefully for the details of this new murder. It just seems odd the way the Harveys were killed, that's not usually how burgler vics are killed.

Number one, I know that profiling is only about separating suspects into catagories, the proverbial wheat from chaff. But you know, it's portrayed in the public eye as something bigger. And nothing could EVER take away from great detective work. My theory all along was that it was someone they knew because they killed those kids, but you know, I don't have a clue if they knew them or not. You knew that Kathy Harveys' brother is Steve Culp from Desperate Housewives? Maybe they just answered the door to a simple request like using the phone. That is entirely possible.

**** but I'm digressing. You know I told you that I was beginning to think of profiling as something roughly akin to the Salem Mass Witch Prickers of the 1600's. Well tonight I just decided that is more on the money than not. When you look at the facts as they were presented, as perhaps with ANY life, there could be more than one or two viable suspects among friends, family and acquaintances, who are entirely innocent. What does being under an *umbrella of suspicion* do in our culture? It ruins lives, completely, entirely and totally. When you cast a large net, you are bound to get some fish. When you win every once in a while in gambling it drags you back to the tables. The proverbial variable ratio of re-inforcement.

AND CAN YOU HAVE A DEPT. OF OFFICERS WHOSE SOLE ACTIVITY IS TO CAST STONES IN A FREE SOCIETY? AND YET WE DO JUST THAT, AND I THINK WE CREATE SOME PRETTY SAD MISTAKES FOR INDIVIDUALS? COULD THIS BE UNCONSTITUTIONAL?

I'm sorry to be a drag about this, but the way it played out is more akin to what a former ADA told me: people who commit crimes tend to get sloppy the more they commit that crime and that is when they get caught. They got stupid, (lucky for us!) and stole a car from their victims. But I still can't even guess as to their motives.

How sad. And I have to wonder, why the Harveys??? Why not another house in the neighborhood? I shudder to think how far this could have gone. And who is to say they have not been on a spree for a while. Further, what set this off?

Too many questions and still no answers and I can't even get local TV for Richmond because I now live in The BIG Valley!

Hugs

Ali
