Saturday Chat anyone?

Now that the holidays are over...I'd like to go ahead and have that Saturday chat!

So tomorrow night, about 8 my time (central) I will be in the chat room, and I'd really like it if YOU could join me!

How does this whole chat thing work?

Well, in all honesty, I don't have a lot of experience with this new chat room we have.

BUT...just go down and click the chat link, and, at least in my case, it took me back to the front page for the site and the chat room loaded itself right there.

We are still working on developing this chat platform into something better, but for now this really doesn't work too bad, just takes a bit to get used to when you are used to using the old chat!

I am hoping to make it. Is it a more controlled room now only for members? I remember years ago people were coming in pretending to be other members and insulting the other chatters. Is that still a possibility?

I just tested to make sure I can get in and voila! I did. So far, it seems better than that last one we had. I'll try to be back at chat time.

Oh, to answer Patricia's questions, I'm not sure we know all the functionality yet, so don't know if it's possible for us mods to boot someone out who is being disruptive. So, don't know yet if we can boot trolls. But, I did notice a nice little "ignore" feature listed by the people's names who are in chat. :)


If you right mouse click on the member's name in the list on the right, you'll see two options. One is "send message" and one is "ignore".

Ok, everybody who was in chat tonight, let's place our wagers as to what excuse Jody is going to give us regarding what kept her from coming to her OWN CHAT. :p

Here's my guess:

Jody is going to say that she was kidnapped by aliens and while we were chatting, she was en route to Neptune.

I'm thinking that she was doing the dishes after dinner before coming to chat....and she got sucked into the sink and washed down the pipes and ended up down river and had to swim to safety and walk all the way back home and was so exausted that she fell into bed and slept all day tomorrow.
