You know you were a kid in the early 90s if....

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You've worn skorts and felt stylish

You yearned to be part of the Baby-Sitters club

You use to love playing with your MY Little Pet Shop

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House"

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You wore a ponytail on the side of your head and had fluffed bangs

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You wanted to change your name to "JEM" in kindergarten

You remember reading "Goosebumps"

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off"

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after (almost) every sentence...Not...

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide

" Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back" SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS ELEPHANTS ELEPHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE"
he jumped so high high high he touched the sky sky sky and he didnt come back back back til the forth of july ly ly he jumped so low ow ow he stumbed he's toe oe oe and thats the end end end of the elephants show ow ow

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You knew what it meant to say "Care Bear Stare"

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell"

You played and or collected "Pogs"

You used to pretend to be a MIGHTY MORPHIN Power Ranger and you owned a Skip It

You had at least one GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)

You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You thought it would be so cool to be Alex Mack.

" Talk to the hand" ... enough said

You thought Brain woud finally take over the world (aww wut u mean he didnt??)

You idolized Parker Lewis and his crafty rolladex of excuses and *****in watch.

When u think of the word Gadget and it reminds u of ur only female mouse cartoon crush circa Tail Spin.

we had all the best shows back then Clarissa, Hey Dude, Welcome Freshman, Pete and Pete, Salute Your Shorts....and all the best nicktoons...screw the fairly odd parents....Doug and Ren, Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life can kick their butt!!

Sometimes Pete & Pete comes on this digital cable station i get and i love it

and remember all the game shows? Wild & Crazy Kids, What would you do? Double Dare, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Guts, Nick Arcade

Add: Tight rolled jeans with boat shoes...can't believe you missed the tight rolled jeans.

Oh yeah...Animaniacs was actually a fairly sophisticated cartoon...do you remember the Pinky and the Brain, where Brain was going to take over the world by winning the NBA championship but Pinky screwed up and hired Dudley Moore as the coach. I always thought it was pretty cool for a kids cartoon to make sclerosis of the liver jokes at Dudley's expense (RIP Dudley)

WOW...haha...I remember everything on that list. So funny!

Another thing was body suits...did any of you wear those?? They were so ugly now that I think about it! They were spandex and then they buttoned in the crotch! I would wear those with my stirrup pants and my jellies!

Full House was my favorite show. My little sister who is 7 loves Full House too. I think ive seen every episode about 10 times!

Does anyone know about this show where the girl was an alien(im not even sure if she was an alien) and I think  she had a magic ball or crystal.. something like that...and she would talk to it? Im not sure if thats what it was....but it was something like that. I wish I could remember the name!

Sorry, couldn't resist:

You know you were a kid in the early 90s if....

You've worn skorts and felt stylish

Yeah, but it was in the early 70s

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom"
Actually, it comes from The Fonz (Happy Days)

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
Not since the 70s when the Bugs Bunny-Roadrunner show was on for NINETY minutes! :(

You ever got injured on a Slip 'n' Slide
Again, yep, but in the early 70s

You remember a time before the WB.
The WB started in 1995 so I remember a loooong time before the WB.

Amanda, yep, I used to wear bodysuits ALL the time!

Ace of Base and Coolio. You're KILLING me!

Remember when everyone had to get Coolio's hair? I will proudly admit being part of the Ace of Base backlash. I remember how funny we thought it was in 9th grade to get team softball t-shirts that said "we are the ace of base!" LOL! Too rich!

haha it was seriously so bad!! I was so white and obsessed with Coolio, I knew like every song by heart. And LL Cool J...looking back now, his lyrics were so sexual, I was like an 11 year old rattling them off and not knowing what they meant. My first 3 CD's were Alanis, Coolio and TLC

And remember the clueless craze?? The fluffy pens, mini back packs, baby tees that said "whatever"

Otto
01-16-2006, 11:22 PM
Oh yeah! That was like...maybe sophomore year. Fluffy PENS!!!! Oh no! That was one year before the dreaded and evil Furby!

I was more like...People's Instinctive Travels and Paths of Rythyms...that was my first CD, and I bought it the same day I bought Arrested Development, the MTV Unplugged album...which was TOTALLY tight! Once LL hit with Doin' It, I was like, not about LL. He went all Boyz 2 Men on me and it was not cool. But Mama Said to Knock You Out,THAT I had a copy of. But the day I got that, another girl in my class bought, Snow: 12 Inches of Snow...featuring the ever popular, Informer. HA HA! Lame.

An End of the Road Dance!!!!! HA HA HA HA! No...tell me you are joking! What? What was there a big "dead end" sign with some trees and a turn around by the stage at the end of the gym?

Speaking of the Boyz, as the head of the prom committee (the year I fixed the king and queen vote like a true american and totally ruined a young girl's life) I unilaterally VETOED "One Sweet Day" as the prom song which was the top vote winner. No fluttery Ms. Carey in the background...not gonna happen. Ok...and I hated to burst the bubble of every illiterate retard in that hick school...but it was a song about DEATH!

This might be a tad before IYE would go back...but how 'bout Bryan Adams....Everything I Do, I Do It For You...every 10 freakin' seconds. From 5-7th grade for me, that was the last song at every school dance. Then came Whitney Housten popped in with I Will Always Love You...and even though Field of Dreams was awesome, it was right about that point where I started to HATE Kevin Costner.

I have this teddy bear dressed like one of the members of boyz II men and when you squeeze him, he sings "I'll make love to you" :p

Okay, I am not the YW in my relationship, but I'm kind of a YOW (young-ish older woman) and I remember just about ALL of that stuff!!! Awesome list. That fits me much better than a lot of the older lists that I am supposed to be more a part of.

YAY!
