I agree, I loved all those movies......and Blues Brothers, Stripes, Caddy Shack, Airplane and many more goofy movies. Although Blues Brothers wasn't goofy imo, that was a classic :p

I'm not embarrassed to admit that I like any particular movies. What I AM embarrassed by is that I tend to tear up during very moving parts of movies that I might be watching. One scene that always does that to me is in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" (1967) with Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. Tracy's final speech of the film (and of his career) is just so powerful about accepting differences, and about love, that I can't watch it without choking up.

I'm embarrassed to say, I like The Wizard =P

It was a cheezy, shameless Nintendo Plug (TM) movie in the late 80's that was about a retarded child looking for his long lost sister; and runs away from home..only to start playing Nintendo and get involved in games - and start competiting in national tournaments, all the while his parents are looking for him.

Oh god, the movie is so bad! But I can't help loving it. =)

Oh, and for the thread ... I love The Wizzard of Oz, the Never Ending Story (very deep messages in there :)), Gone With The Wind, and The Creator (a little known film, corny but good).

OH, OH, Onetiger, I had to come back and revise my post to include the brat pack and I've watched Pretty In Pink tons of times ;) Good one.

Ferris Bueller, The Breakfast Club, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Anything nonsensical that has the kids outsmarting the authority figures. Oh yeah, Home Alone and Christmas Vacation. And Fargo. That's sort of taboo to like in Minnesota because it makes us look SO boring and as if we all just emigrated from Oslo. But anything by the Coen brothers is fabulous. Every time I see The Big Lebowski it gets funnier. Oh yeah, Parenthood. Just saw it and I almost died laughing.

It's hard to admit this, but Pee Wee's Big Adventure. Also, Christmas Vacation by Lampoon. But my all time FAV goofy movie is Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Absolutely could watch it a million times. Oh wait, I also love the Princess Bride, and Robin Hood, Men in Tights. Lol. I laugh just thinking about them all.

Hey Princess, I loved Never Ending Story, but I haven't seen it for like 10 years. I think I'll go see if I can find it at the video store and watch it again. :)

Its good to see a wide range of corny movies listed in this thread. ;)

Actually there are quite a few films that I
am a bit embarrassed to admit that I like - a lot!
LOL

Here are a few:

The Blob
Both of them, especially the one with
Steve McQueen!

Kingdom of the Spiders
With William Shatner
Actually I like any film that
Shatner is in.
I know he over-acts, but I adore him!
:p

Lake Placid

Anaconda

Selina

Any film that Patty Duke is in
Yes, she is another that over-acts,
but I really like her!

Any John Wayne film

All Shirley Temple films

All Jerry Lewis films

Any film with Bette Davis

Those are just to name a few.....

OMG! I totally loved that movie! Mainly because I had a phat crush on....oh no...I forgot his name! OH NO! The kid that was the main character in the Wonder Years...........FRED SAVAGE! Yeah, was totally in love with him! There was another movie he did with his little brother called Little Monsters....yeah I know, but I loved that one too!

I must admit I love all those teen 80's movies too!! I can perform Ferris Bueller's Day Off - word for word. I remember watching it, then rewinding it to watch it again!

I am also embarrassed to admit that I loved Gigli! I know, the damn Bennifer thing pulled me in. I wanted to see what it was like...it was soooo lame, but I liked it!

I like pretty much any movie about auto racing. But, one movie I liked that others hated, was Stroker Ace.

Why do people hate it and I like it?

The only movie you'll see Burt Reynolds drive a race car while wearing a chicken suit...*LOL*

Now, if anyone says they love the movie "Driven" (Sylvester Stallone movie about Open wheel Racing)....you will be shot on the spot...*LOL*

I like 'Spirit of St Louis' I like real life adventures, and had a real hard job tracking down a copy in the UK, but by chance is was being screened on TV in the middle of the night, and I taped it. I've watched it loads of times, but probably wouldn't show it to my friends :)
