Hi everyone, im new to the community and i need some advice.
I am a young man with a baby on the way by an older women, but im not sure if im ready for the committment, but every time I look at my feonce she makes me a little mor sure that I can do it. the thing is its not that im afraid of the committment its that i don't want to be the father that I had and be a deadbeat dad. I have so much to pass on to my child but Im afraid that my adolesence will interfer with me doing that. mentally I am ready for this but their are so many ways that Im not sure that I am. what sould I do?

sincerly yours,

Have you discussed your anxiety with your fiance? Maybe she could help you find a new father group where you could meet other new and future dads to get some peer support. The fact that you are thinking about the issue and seeking advice is a good sign to me that you will be a caring dad, but you might feel better with the support of such a group. Being a parent for the first time is scary for a lot of people.

Hi Reep, I think what you are feeling is normal. Being a first-time parent is a scary thing for anyone, no matter what. My son, who is 21, found out a few weeks ago that his gf is pregnant. And, he has been going through all the feelings you are going through as well.

How old are you, by the way? And how old is your fiance?
