Ok, just need to vent about something.
I sometimes go on this site. Its a site to meet people. Very popular here in Quebec.
Anyway, I go in the chatroom, than this man start talkiing to me. I check his profile. It says he is 30. So I ask him 'you are 30?' he said 'no, I am 39'.
So I ask him why dont you jus say your real age. He tells me, look at my pic, I look no more than 32. Yeah...soooooo...Do i have stupid written in my profile?
He says 'you judge me'. I answer 'no, I am not, just an observation'.
Trying to turn the table aroud here if you notice.
I told him that I tought he writes 30 so he can have younger women and says 39 if he wants to approach an older lady. Just make sense.
Geez...what a dork!
Ok, through rambling
Thanks for reading :D
Love you all!
No matter where I go, this is the best place.

I actually know a guy in real life that lies on his profiles. I am tired of arguing with him over how lame it is. He says the younger women do searches up to 35 and if he puts his real age (39), he gets fewer hits. Says that if they get to the point of meeting in person, he'll tell them. What a dork!

I never could get him to see how stupid it was and gave up. And he wonders why he never gets past the first or second date with these women.

Yeah Gypsy, its so ridiculous and such a lost of time with this type of guys.
I remember another man who lied to me about his age a few years ago. Told me he was 42 (than). Turned out he was 47. No finished yet! Next....he said he had 2 kinds. Turned out he had 4!!
Whats the next lie? Know what I mean?
I just dont lose my time with those types.

And DaBollocks...now you are REALLY embarassing me.
:p
Sweet but :o

I'm sorry but a lie is a lie. If a guy is lying about his age in his profile, I figure he's a liar. Period.

Edit: Even worse, he's lying to trick people so that he can get what he wants (as opposed to lying about someone's bad taste in shoes or perfume). In other words, he's trying to make women believe that he's younger so that he can hook-up with women in a specific age bracket. Nothing wrong with preferring a certain age bracket but lying to date within that age bracket? Whatever...

I haven't ever done much "internet dating". It's just not for me. I was contacted by several men who admitted that they had lied about their age and, well, for me that was always the end of the conversation. Except once. I admit, I did go out with one guy who lied about his age by a few years but, if I were interested in meeting guys on the internet, I'd never do that again - on principle.

No offense to anyone who enjoys internet dating. I don't, and one reason is that it seems all too easy for people to lie about all sorts of things online. I've got enough B.S. to deal with in real life, with real people.

You make it sound like men are the only ones guilty of this. So women don't lie about their age, weight, or marital status on dating sites? I can tell you from experience that's not true.

By the way, guys, whenever a woman describes herself as having "a few extra pounds" or "a little extra padding", beware! It doesn't mean she's just slightly overweight; it means she's fat!

I finally realized the whole site was ridiculous with it's age rules and removed my profile.

I agree...I've never heard of such a thing!!

And Mark, the dating sites i've been on dont give you a choice of "fat" to check off...usually you check off one of the terms that they have listed.

And TRUST me...men who check "a few extra pounds" are just as guilty...when they're carrying around a beer gut the size of a keg!!

Mark, I'm not sure how you think that I did that?

I simply responded to specific topic in the OP, which was about a guy lying about his age online.

EDIT:

To clarify, I was also responding to Gypsy's post

I never said women didnt lie either. But since I never was interested in women it didnt really crossed my mind
But I do know it goes both sides.
