Hello.

So I guess I should introduce myself . . .

I'm 22 years old. I'm not currently in a relationship with an older woman (I've never been in any relationship, really). A relationship would be nice, but apparently 22-year-old guys shouldn't be looking for that. But I'm odd (this is important). I've always gotten along better with older people than people my own age. I guess that's because I was a pretty bright kid. I'm a pretty bright adult too, but I don't think brightness counts for a whole lot. I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

I would say I'm here because when I do get into a relationship, it will probably be with an older woman. I'm attracted to intelligence and maturity, and those qualities are not evenly distributed across the age spectrum. C'est la vie.

Well, I think that's a decent introduction. What do you think?

Don't kid yourself...maturity and intelligence have nothing to do with age. Go read posts on the OM/YM site- plenty of women there claiming to be too mature for their age. Same with your situation. It all depends on who you're meeting.

Being inexperienced may be your biggest dilemma right now. If your attracted to a woman who is mature, she's also experienced, in relationships/sex/love, and it may be difficult at first to get past your "newness" to that scene.

i have to disagree with your attitude that 22yr old men aren't into relationships. Sure, some are still stuck on their undergrad days of getting a notch into their belt, but a lot of my guy friends were ready to slow down a bit after graduating and some remained with the girlfriends they had at 22 and ended up marrying them...still together (we're all in our 30s).

Don't sell yourself short by keeping it in your head you'll want an older woman. Just get out there and meet anyone and see who sparks your interest, despite their age. You may be surprised. It usually happens where you least expect it to. Good luck.
