What the Bleep Do We Know?

I just saw this movie for the first time. I'm thinking that I may need to purchase it so that I can watch it again. And again. And...

I took three classes in physics in college but I've never taken a class or read a book on quantum physics. After seeing this movie, I'm going to be ordering a book on the basics of quantum physics - largely so I can truly grasp the concepts presented in this movie and apply them.

I'm a big believer in karma, visualization and that we truly are the creators of our own reality. That if your life s*cks, it is often something that you can change. This movie talks about all of these things (and so much more) but on a much, much deeper level.

Definitely not a mainstream movie and definitely not the movie equivalent of a light read.

that you bring this up! I watched this movie when it came out, and always wanted to see it again....a month ago I rented it from Netflix, and I haven't sent it back.....I've probably watched it about a half a dozen times so far, and I'm not done.

When I saw the movie at the theater, I went out and got the book by the Japanese guy who photographs water crystals. I think it's called The Message in Water. While there are many amazing things in this movie, I thought the realization by Marlee Matlin that the way she talked to herself can influence the very blood pulsing through her veins (after all, we're most H20, right SG?) was the most practical application of this movie.

Watching it several times over has been a positive influence on me...and makes me much more aware of my day to day interactions with others. I was in a bit of a rut, and this movie has changed that.

Is this not a movie that simply requires multiple viewings? Watching it just once seems to creak something into gear in your brain or kick something up a notch.

I am looking forward to buying a book by Dr. Masaru Emoto. I agree, Kat. I thought that the differences in crystalization of the water depending on the lables was one of the most amazing pieces of information presented in this film. http://www.whatthebleep.com/crystals/. The 'artistry' exercise that Marly Matlin goes through was very inspiring. And, as you know, yes, our bodies ARE mostly water. It became so very very clear how important it is for us to treat ourselves and those around us with love and kindness. And not just with words. As one of the scientists in the film said, even if we go through life with positive thoughts, that these positive thoughts are usually covering of a slew of negative thoughts (I paraphrase a bit).

I was also fascinated with the idea of 'creating your day'. This concept on the level on which the movie discusses it is so much greater than just waking up in the morning, putting a smile on and planning your day.

This movie takes visualization to a WHOLE new level!

I could go on and on about this movie. I have it at home through Netflix, too, Kat, and I'm going to either go buy it right away or hang onto it until I do buy it. I believe, too, that this movie could be one of those instruments that will influence my life, as you say it has influenced yours.

More on the water crystal concept:

It made me wonder about the actual quality of the water. With the differences in crystalization, did the quality of the water actually change? The visuals imply this, and then if you add in the ideas about receptors being available or not available to accept certain...oh, I can't think of the word...but the idea of cell receptors being available to receive 'good things', it really implies this.

If you assume that the quality itself changes, what is really going on in the bodies of people who are living their lives negatively. Are their bodies literally polluted? Or just filled with 'ugly' crystals? The movie implies that the 'pretty' crystals are better but I'm not educated enough about the physical aspects of crystalization to extend this implication.

Of course, again, this movie presents so MANY amazing ideas that maybe I missed it the first time around.

My mom is really into the water crystals, and she's shown me two books on it. I have a hard time deciding on how I feel about something until I research it to death so it's hard to say how I feel about it right now since I just don't have the time.

I saw the movie once and I agree like the two of you that it definately needs to be watched more than once. One of these days I'll have time.....

Yeah, Cabin, I can relate. I'm a Libra and do research for a living so I investigate the heck out of 'new ideas'.

I want to read more about these water crystals because I want to know the deeper implications - if there are any - of the physical differences that manifest in these crystals. (See my post above.)
