But since my 21 YO GF went away in March "on a vacation" with another GF of hers I have not slept through the night. I miss her so much. It is almost like separation anxiety. She is supposed to be back within the next three months.
I need to start sleeping again. Any ideas?

Three months!! You poor thing. My OM is going away for 11 days starting tomorrow and I'm already missing him like crazy! :(

You probably shouldn't have girlfriends who are in jail if you want to sleep nights. I'm suspecting that is where she is based on what you've said about her before.
Honestly, I don't think you're going to sleep well for many years to come, based on what you've shared about her. So I guess my advice to you is that if you stay with her, you'd best figure out how to get used to it, sadly.

Actually, she was in jail less than a day. Mandy is no criminal mastermind. As I understand it, it all happened because I was with another girl that night and she caught me. Later on, the girls fought over me. The police were called...
She is with her father who lives at least 13 hours away and she seems like she is no hurry to get back.

It has already been over 6 weeks. The sleep disruption started after she was gone for a week.

Maybe you should use this time alone to do some soul searching.
maggiemama 05-05-2006, 11:40 AM I'm with Charlotte. I say make a list of some things you would really like to do or places you would like to go and get moving! Use this time to do things that you normally wouldn't have time to do. It will make the days pass quicker and if you stay really busy you will collapse in exhaustion at night.
Maybe you will be super buff or something by the time your gf gets back :)

Timeline:
In October, I didn't really cheat on her. I was dancing with someone else when came in. I never expected that much jealousy let alone a fight over me. She eventually realised she had no reason to worry.
In March, she had a blowout with her mother, then that is when she left for her fathers. It had nothing to do with me.
I love her just as much as ever, I am just waiting for her to come back.

I did not really know how she felt until I found out she was willing to fight over me. That definitely put a different spin on things...

As if the age difference were not of a complication, my GF is a single mother of two. She loves to drink (a bigger problem than the next sentence). She likes girls as much I do. She has piercings and tattoos. You can see that she is still a bit of a "wild child."
When I met her, it really was love at first sight on my part. My biggest regret is that I was unable to prevent her from getting pregnant by somebody else shortly after we met, but I barely registered on her radar back then. So she had the two children out of wedlock and I tried to get over her. No matter how much I wanted the feelings to end, they continued.
In almost every way, she is my complete opposite -- but I love her anyway. The situation is anything but perfect, I freely admit that. I know it is screwed up.
