My husband has fallen in love with another woman! She's black, has big, brown eyes, and thinks he's the most amazing man in the world.
And she has eight nipples (how can I compete with that??? ) :

:D
This is our beautiful new baby, Gillian -- she's half lab, half greyhound and was mistreated by her former owners then abandoned. Tim has always wanted but never had a dog before in his entire life so she was his birthday present this year. She is a gentle sweetheart (slightly delusional though: she thinks she's a yorkie and tries to climb with all fours into our laps). We are all absolutely in love with our Gilly-bean and she is thoroughly enjoying being spoiled rotten by all of us!

Now, knowing you for so long now...I KNEW the title had to be a joke! :) The eight nipples part made me laugh out loud though.
She's so pretty. I love her white feet. How old is she?
And Tim, congratulations! Welcome to the wonderful world of fur babies....

Hehe Mrs. H...
You and yours are so similiar to me and mine...
Devon also had never had a dog of his own and wanted one... we got Zeus from a shelter last June as a gift for him. Zeus is a lab/husky mix. A little over a year later (and now over 100 pounds  ) he is still Dev's lil baby. :)
Gratz on your new arrival!!!

LOL!! Thanks everyone!
SWB, I am SOOO glad we didn't get a puppy!!
We have been absolutely blown away at how well-behaved she is; she's house trained, only barks when strangers come inside, she knows some very important simple commands: Up, Down, Come here, Stay (hah! her first night here, she was on a tie-out in the back yard. Tim had to run inside for something and told her to "stay." Imagine his surprise when, 10 minutes later, he returned and found her sitting in the exact place she was in when he gave her the command! :D), and, I know she's only been with us for a week, but so far....
no chewed shoes!!

Sometimes there are advantages to adopting an older dog. I was so lucky to find a fully-grown dog who is house-broken and knows commands, too. She is like a gift from heaven. And doesn't chew a thing.

Thank you for the extra grey hairs your title gave me, young lady...you can't do that to an old woman you know...
other than that...she's beautiful.
(another sigh)...always wanted a beagle...can't have any dog/cats or anything with fur on it....allergic
FISH...:(

Congratulations on your new baby girl.
My black lab turned 15 in April. She's on meds for a neurological disorder in her hind legs, which makes it difficult for her to get around at times. Just as I think she's taken a turn for the worse she bounces back. I think (and hope) her loyalty and love for us all will keep her going for a long time. I've never gone very long without a dog, or cats - throw in an occasional ferret, hamster, gerbil ..... I'm a sucker for animals.
Anyway, may you have many many years of happiness with your new pup.
