whiterose 08-13-2006, 07:33 PM Hi my name is Katrina and I am addicted to scented shower gels and lotions.
I am so addicted that I am running out of space in my teeny bathroom.
In my shower alone, I counted NINE different shower gels. I have more under the sink.
I also counted four different types of shampoo in my shower as well. :o
Oh! And two different kinds of bars of soap from Bath & Bodyworks. :D
In the cabinet over the toilet, I have SIX different types of scented lotions. I have more under the sink and in my bedroom as well.
I am always buying something new before I finish up what I already have.
What is wrong with me? Anybody else out there suffer from this cursed addiction?
Amina 08-13-2006, 07:37 PM Hello, my name is Emily and I'm a bath product/lotion-aholic...:o
Kat, you are not alone my sister...you are NOT alone.
My husband kept teasing me because our master bathroom was FILLED with one product after another and he insisted that this was not just normal female behavior, that I was some kind of addict. He has a razor, a tooth brush, after shave, and soap...the end. The end? Pshhhhht...that is not even the BEGINNING of my collection...:D
lencarol 08-13-2006, 07:45 PM I LONG to be a bath and shower gel addict, but alas they all make me itch! :( So I just go down the bath aisle, look, feel and smell all the gels, etc. --and it makes me sad. I use Dove Unscented....
manofmisteree 08-13-2006, 07:48 PM for some reason i thought you were asking how many people were in your shower.
MerAlove23 08-13-2006, 08:03 PM nahhh not me.. I only have one lotion, conditioner, shampoo.. but TONS OF BABY soaps and fun stuff!
lencarol 08-13-2006, 08:05 PM I have baby soaps too, Mer--for me! And baby laundry detergent, etc. etc., tough getting old....:(
whiterose 08-13-2006, 08:21 PM I LONG to be a bath and shower gel addict, but alas they all make me itch! :( So I just go down the bath aisle, look, feel and smell all the gels, etc. --and it makes me sad. I use Dove Unscented....
I think if that happened to me, it would put me over the edge. I'm so sorry you can't enjoy them, lencarol. :(
i'm like lencarol......most scented things make me itch and/or give me a headache.
unscented dove for me too.
and i always end up sitting next to someone on an airplane who seems to be slathered in scented lotion or perfume.....my eyes water and i start wheezing and a migraine is around the corner.
it's really awful, and if i could campaign about one thing, it would be for people to realize that a lot of people out there have allergies to man-made chemical scents, so if they're going to be in close quarters with others, to COOL IT ON THE SCENTS.
It's a form of air pollution.
Okay, I'm done. Carry on with the good vibes of lotions and potions.
Jo-Admin 08-13-2006, 10:45 PM Oh gosh..we are so ridiculous in this house I had to put more shelves in the bathroom.
My daughter and I have our shelf with girl smelling shower gel and lotions and shampoos and perfumes, and then the guys have guy stuff on their shelf.
I'm not big on the lotions, I only have one, but I went and looked and we have four different shower gels, four different shampoos with conditioners, three different kinds of toothpaste, and six different perfumes.
I love Bath and Body works. I love just walking by the store and smelling bath and body works. Mmmmmmm....
I may be an addict.
lencarol 08-13-2006, 10:58 PM Thanks WR and kat. I really don't miss them, as I am very sensitive to strong smells anyway. I don't think I have any allergies really, never have. Maybe my skin is just changing, getting drier, or something. I do use most lotions without any problems. Love the shea butter lotions!:)
Chatterbox 08-14-2006, 12:44 AM I confess. I have a 3 shelf hanger and two floor-to-ceiling multi-shelf units AND, try as I might, I STILL can't keep the rim of the tub clear - more stuff, more stuff, more stuff!!! :p
I posted this before but ... After a lifetime of washing with soaps or gels and then having to put lotion on because my skin was dry, I finally smartened up and now I wash my extremities with lotion!
Chatterbox 08-14-2006, 12:46 AM for some reason i thought you were asking how many people were in your shower.
Me too, Mano/Doctor O/DoctorofLoooooooove, I was going to answer: Two if I'm lucky!
Bodhi Tree 08-14-2006, 05:43 AM for some reason i thought you were asking how many people were in your shower.
LOL, I thought the same thing :D
As to what I have in my shower, is the classic almond oil bar of soap, one bottle of shampoo and one bottle of conditioner. I replace an item when I notice that I'm about to run out.
Sorry, I'm boring in that department :(
Anjiana 08-14-2006, 09:49 AM Hi my name is Adriana and I am addicted to oils and lotions.
Here in Brazil I don't own a bath tub, I miss one so much!
But I love body oils and lotion, I am using a very nice lotion lately of 'sweet herb', a brazilian traditional herb. Smells and make your skin feel great.
I also have in my bathroom:
Avocado oil bar soap, Brown sugar and Vanilla body lotion, Sweet almond body oil, day/night face lotion, refinish from L'oreal, facial liquid soap, shamphoo and conditioner of extract of cotton, 4 different cologne.
sheila4pd 08-14-2006, 10:03 AM I absolutely FORCE myself not to buy any lotion or shower gel or soap before I am close to finishing the one I am using. At one point in my life I had way too many.
joelstrouble 08-14-2006, 11:15 AM I saw this thread when I was at work and I realized that I had no chance remembering all I have in there... I have 5 different kind of shampoo and 5 different kind of conditioner, two bars of soap and one special soap for the privat parts ;) and I have 3 different bath foams (cherry, vanilla and pineapple). I only found one shower gel though, but the one thats there is from Elisabeth Arden and it smells wondeful :o
And when it comes to loition I'm a maniac... Just here on the computer desk I have one huge bottle of Sans Soucis and a small bottle of body lotion tha smells of sweet pea. In the bathroom I have one bottle of Nivea intensive care cooling lotion and in the bedroom I have one bottle with coconut/vanilla scented, a box of honey lotion from the body shop, another Nivea intensive care, one coconut and lime sented lotion and one green tea lotion :o
Hi my name is Aina and I have NO addiction to lotions and soap *wistles inocently*
Science Goddess 08-14-2006, 11:28 PM *sigh*
My name is Gina, and I'm addicted to body lotions, oils and scrubs.
I'm running low and there are only 6 such products in the shower at this time. A dozen on the bathroom shelves, and who knows how many under the sink and in the closet.
Right now, I'm trying really hard to get through what I have instead of constantly buying more. The number of partially-empty lotion bottles/jars in my house is ridiculous.
I also have more 'utensils' in the shower than anyone I've ever seen: Scrubbie gloves, hair comb, loofa, pumice stone, callus shaver, 2 types of nail brushs, razor, under-fingernail pencil, and another type of callus remover.
Edit: Funny, I'm semi-allergic to most perfumes but I love scented lotions and oils.
Peachy 08-14-2006, 11:28 PM I guess I'm an addict too . . . they're all over the place . . . and the ones I really, really like, I have two of them so I can have one at the tub and one in the shower . . . the really hard part comes when I travel deciding which ones to take and which ones to leave behind :(
whiterose 08-15-2006, 05:40 AM the really hard part comes when I travel deciding which ones to take and which ones to leave behind :(
I know!!! I deal with that too. :p And even when I travel on an overnight business trip, I HAVE to take my own bath gel/soap and lotions with me, so that takes up extra room in my luggage. And then guess what I do? I take home with me the shampoo, lotion and soap that the hotel provided!!!!!!
What is wrong with me? I am so pathetic. :P
lencarol 08-15-2006, 10:18 AM Okay, I have to confess.....I AM a lotion addict!:o Just can't take the shower gels and spray-on cologne stuff. I have a bottle or tube of lotion in every room too!! But is usually with a very muted scent, shea or cocao butter, baby lotion or something herbal.:)

I finally decided to throw away anything I hadn't used that was four months old or older. Now I only have four shampoos, and one bath gel. And the bathroom is clean!!!

concordia 08-17-2006, 06:28 AM Katrina there's nothing wrong with you....think about my new addiction..... I love to lick bars soap!!! Delicious flavour but bleaaaahhhh when I savour the aftertaste!!!! Am I sick in the mind?
Loganic 08-17-2006, 07:35 AM I have one shampoo, maybe a conditioner somewhere, under the sink maybe? some left overshowergel, and half a bar of soap . . . it's green, and my shampoo is white, so is the left over shower gell. White with some blue I think.

Bob's babydoll 08-17-2006, 03:06 PM If I took an inventory of all the bodywashes and lotions and perfumes I have, It probably be at least 40 or so bottles. However, Bob could probably open up his own "Bath And Bodyworks" with all the soaps, colognes and bodywashes he has! :p Everytime a new men's fragrance comes out, he just has to have it. *laughing* We're both big believers in aromatherapy. Who knows, maybe it's mainly a "mental" connection but I truly do feel more relaxed after I use a lavender bodywash and I feel more energized after I use a citrus scented bodywash... and so on. :)
Charlotte 08-19-2006, 10:46 AM I only have one and that's because it came as a gift with a bottle of perfume I bought.
I usually use soap in the shower.
lencarol 08-19-2006, 11:08 AM I hope all the lotion/gel/cologne bottles are being recycled? Am feel very self-righteous this morning, as Harrison can attest.:p :D
