It's Autumn and I cut my hair short NOW!?

Who knew!

I don't know about all of you, but I can tell you just by something as little as a haircut and by myself might I add (don't be too shocked, have always done my own hair coloring/cuts...but this did take lot of courage, even for me :o ) this is incredibly SHORT for me (haven't had it this short since I was living abroad!). Gives a whole new meaning to the word change.

I am certain others have felt this way, any personal input on the whys? For me, I think I just cut off all the 'toxic waste' I have been carrying around...gee, I feel so much lighter! No pun intended. ((grins impishly))

So, if you want to get rid of the old stuff that isn't working...Just Do It and watch new doors open up for you. In fact, if you do please share.

I have already got a new lip color, new step to my walk and might I add a twinkle to the eye. ;)

Ear muffs...! :D Funny woman...((grins widely))

It sure was SB...holy mackarelo! It is wild & sassy and chunk it with some glob I bought yesterday gets it all shiny & can create little curled up ends...must say I am ready for pic taking! It is fun and I think it makes me look taller!

Will send a pic...when I get in that 'mood'. **winks**

ROFL!

Raven! It must be an October baby thing....

I got my hair cut (near waist length to just above the back bra strap length), bought a new shade of lipstick, and walked with the head a littler higher, too.

teehee!

Good onya!

Onemoreguy...I don't know about 'weight lifted' but if cutting off the old (toxic stuff??) & letting in the new makes any sense I suspect your comment certainly fits! :)

Otaku...OH MY! I suspect you are in for some changes too? In fact the hair cutting was part of it, but like purchasing a new car, taking a class at work for more knowledge, and a SHORT haircut I would never dream of having and yesterday did another thing...began to clear out closets, just tossing stuff into donation bags & tossing albums & old pics (saved a few, but very few in comparison to what I threw out) into the recycle bin (what an appropriate term). I don't know what is on the horizon but I am certainly making room for it!

Christina...you know, I haven't been in the mood to take a pic of myself (and this site is not closed so I have my druthers on that issue) but I have received endless compliments from folks who knew me with the former length. It seems I am noticed now...does that make any sense? And I did the same as you did...had cut shoulder to chin length and let it go at that for quite some time but for some unknown reason I wasn't satisfied, wasn't aware of that until I did the 'chop chop'. I mean it looked fine chin wise but it wasn't until I had the courage to REALLY do it was I truly 'set free'. Another 'does that make any sense?'. In fact, trimmed it a bit more yesterday...ears show more now and ready for the holidays to be dressed up with bells, green tights & red turned up slippers to look like a holiday Elf! If I do, I will then do a pic! :D

Thanks you All...and Happy Halloween...I am going up to Ghost Mountain Ranch and hope to do some horse riding and maybe flirt with a ghost? ;)

Whatever floats your boat, Raven! Personally, it is an added bit of happiness to feel my hair tickle the small of my back, but I have heard other women say that they greatly enjoy the feelings of lightness, freedom, and new beginnings from cutting all their hair off - glad you're one of them! Go with it!

Raven...

I did the same thing!!! I went shopping last Sat. by myself and bought about 400 bucks worth of hot new winter clothing and then last Thurs....I went and chopped all my hair off!!!

Here's me before.

And here's me now!

I had the same haircut/style for my whole life...part down the middle...bangs straight across my forehead...it was time for a change.

And let me just say...I feel a million times better! I feel more confident in myself...I feel like a million bucks. :D

Nadine.

PS. I look better in person. *grin*

Chatterbox...I know what you mean that is why it startled me to do this dramatic step!! With the long hair I did French braids, buns...endless clips! Now...just wet, towel dry, a bit of finger combing & goo and Voilą! A whole new look. (Luckily I can cut...because these cuts need more maintenance.)

Jesique...boy, you look great both ways! But this must indeed been a major change for you like my own (gee, same hair style your entire life! HOLY SPLIT HAIRS :D no wonder you understand that odd feeling. It is so...peculiar.

Yeah, short hair like this is rather...intense. Makes one stand out from the crowd! I now check out other women who have their hair as short for styling tips.

Have you noticed even when you wake up you already look dressed?

Oh, Nadine, pretty girl!!:)

Well, I got my hair chopped this summer, was very sad it was cut SO short, now growing it out again. I like it shoulder length, takes SOOOOOOOO long to get there though.:( Am alaways getting a new lip color, have a shimmery peachy color and loving it.

Hi Len...I so agree about Nadine, what a dramatic look! Clothes do look different on us now. :)

Sorry they cut it too short for you...as for me I did a bit at a time. Lived with it for a while, did a bit more clipping & now to the current (been a 3 step process or so in less than a month). I have noticed for a certain look, I need to keep it trimmed whereas with longer hair I didn't even bother for few months to consider shaping.

So, you are always changing lip color? I haven't tried going dark, have you?...I am quite blonde & fair skinned. And the color you described is what was chosen for me, a warm pinkish peach tone...seems almost beige. And with a brownish lip liner it looks pretty nice.

Kewl! I have had mine cut short a couple of times. I think short, wild, trendy looks fab. Have fun with it. I always styled mine really crazy....fun.

But, I have always went back to long. The middle stages of growing out sucks tho.

I'm glad you are happy with yours.:D Yep, a pic would be nice. But I understand.

Well, you look gorgeous with long hair Kindanice...bet you looked real hip & neat with short hair, I can just imagine! :D

I agree, Raven, kinda is gorgeous with the shimmery blonde hair!:D

Also am blonde, not too fair, tan easily, so is a nice contrast in summer. Yes, do try to stay away from the pinks and reds, and stick with the muted or neutral shades. But did find a nice peach color. Don't really wear the lipsticks, but the lip shiners instead. And wear lip liners only for dress up occasions.

It seems my hair is growing SO slowly, is just past my neck. Want to get it back to shoulder length, takes forever!:)

Thank you Len for the tip (will stick w/the neutral...altho I am a blonde I like things a bit bold but guess I will have to do it in other areas  )...and glad you enjoyed Pvt Suds on the PVC issue. Agree on the shower curtain smell, I recall that smell of times gone by.
