How much weight did you gain when you were pregnant?PinkCat 10-17-2006, 07:00 PM And did you lose it after the baby was born? I'm really curious about this stuff, in case I ever get preggo. Thanks!:D christina923 10-17-2006, 07:25 PM hate to admit this... but i think it was 60, 2nd time 40. sure i lost it...20 some odd years later kindanice 10-17-2006, 08:11 PM 40lbs. Lost some of it then gained then lost then gained then lost...... my body has never been the same whiterose 10-17-2006, 08:39 PM I gained 45 lbs with my first, later lost it. Then with my second one, I actually ended up weighing 12 lbs lighter. I actually ate more during that pregnancy, but I think the difference was that with the first pregnancy, I craved sweets and developed a nasty little craving for oreo cookies. :D With my second one, I craved salty and sour foods. Go figure. :p LadyInWaiting 10-17-2006, 08:51 PM :D Not the usual pregnancy.... Gained 13 pounds with the first, weighed in 23 pounds lighter the day after giving birth. Gained 15 pounds with the second (she was a pound heavier than the first), weighed 24 pounds less the day after birth. Baby weight stayed off. "Momma" weight started creeping up *behind* me once I pasted 35. kittylane 10-17-2006, 11:10 PM i gained 30 pounds but i was a diet freak before, always dieting and drinking "tab" i lost around 20 after my daughter was born the first year. i never ate before getting pregnant, it was sexy to look anorexic, i see the movies from the early 80's and all the women look awful. really sickly. its good we are moving past that naw and muscle and health is in vogue, sexy bodies require being healthy. greeneyedgirl 10-17-2006, 11:31 PM boy baby #1: craved bologna sandwiches and milk on ice...gained 30 lbs...threw up for 4 months solid. 15 or so lbs came off. boy baby #2: craved fruit and pickled okra and pepperocini peppers. don't know how much i gained...weighed 3 lbs less when i had him compared to before i was preggers. thew up 8!!! months straight. threw up while on the birthing table lol Bodhi Tree 10-18-2006, 02:55 AM I know all of it in kilos but I'm using a converter. ok, let's see... I measure 5'5" and weighed 130 pounds when I got pregnant. I gained 24 pounds during my pregnancy and later lost some but always relmained around 140-145 pounds. So, no, I never lost much of it but I don't exercise or diet AT ALL. Jo-Admin 10-18-2006, 08:42 AM Well, Im like Lady-In-Waiting, I just never gained much. My first pregnancy I gained 12 pounds. I don't know how much I lost upon delivery, but I wore my own jeans home. The baby weighed 9 pounds, so I know I at least lost that. My body wasn't too bad after that one, I lost all the weight. My second pregnancy I gained somewhere around 17 pounds. Again, no clue how much I lost at the beginning, but I did get my weight back normal within 6 weeks. However that pregnancy really ruined my stomach. Hideous, hideous stretch marks. My stomach looks like raisin, and thats no joke. Blech. My last pregnancy I had I was 26, and that one I gained something like 25 pounds; however, it was different. I remember my best friend telling me I was getting "wide" while I was pregnant, and I just kind of kept that! I never really lost that last 6-10 pounds. I weighed about 105 pounds when I got pregnant, and my lowest weight ever since then was 113 (guys, I'm really short, and thats a normal weight, don't freak out! ). Euuuwwww, Trace, I threw up in the delivery room too. I think it's because I was in so much danged pain. Natural childbirth, BAH. Give me an epidural any day. :) Kristin 10-18-2006, 09:10 AM Ugh, don't make me think about it!! With my first two, I'd say about 40 - 45 lbs. It took a year, but I lost all of the weight and then some for both. I was working in restaurants, running around all of the time AND I worked out 1/2 hour every day AND I started smoking again after both. (Never around baby and after I stopped nursing.) But I was only like 130 lbs at 5'6" to start. This time I was ALREADY weighing in at 170 lbs or so (I hadn't been on a scale for some time, but I could guess) when I got pregnant. I barely get any exercise with my job. I've put on 46 lbs I think. At last weigh-in I was 216 lbs! I could shoot myself. Jeremy & I are planning a diet and exercise program as soon as I heal from the birth. He put on at least 40 lbs too!! We were planning on starting one and then I got pregnant. Between nausea and fatigue, I wasn't up for serious exercise then. (I've never been a big health nut, but I REALLY don't want to stay this fat.) So, I say (trying to sound confident) that I WILL lose this weight again!!! Either way, I'd say I averaged 40 lbs. How horrible considering the baby & stuff probably is only 12 - 15 lbs of that total! MerAlove23 10-18-2006, 09:46 AM I gained 40 LBS . Unfortunatly I even gained some afterwards :( but working on fixing all that !! DaBollocks 10-18-2006, 09:56 AM  HOLY HONKERS!! Note to self: Thank you dear Lord for makin' me a man!! ME NERVES!! :p :D skatergirl 10-18-2006, 03:08 PM I never let the doctor tell me how much I was gaining so I don't know how much, but I worked out throughout all my pregnancy, which made it so much easier to snap back to my usual size, which I did basically within 2 months. (Hello sit-ups!!!!) Just make sure you exercise, (a nice moderate not too crazy routine) during your pregnancy if you decide to, and you'll have an easier time of it afterward. kat7 10-18-2006, 09:47 PM I gained 50 pounds with my pregnancy when I was 28 years old. I was starving the entire time, and went from 120 to 170. I lost 20 lbs the day of delivery, and stayed about 150 for a long time, finally lost it. Then, I quit smoking, went through major surgery, menopause, and things did not stay the same. See me in the health section under "weight watchers"! :o Shewolf 10-21-2006, 04:54 PM I am not sure how much weight I gained and lost with my son, although I was wearing my normal jeans within a week of his birth. With my daughter I lost weight steadily during the last 2 months and ended up weighing under 100lbs after delivery, took me nearly a year to get back up to my pre-pregnancy weight of 112lbs, I have always been real skinny LOL Menopause seems to have added a couple of pounds and I am now around 120/125lbs, maybe one day I will reach something like the normal weight for my height (5ft 7in) littlebug 10-21-2006, 05:45 PM well i ve gained about 20 lbs i m about 31 weeks.... so not quite done yet ....... special K 10-27-2006, 02:03 AM I win !!! 60+ pounds (I stopped looking at the scale at 60). My youngest son weighed 9.2at birth....and like I mentioned elsewhere, he is now 15 and 6' 3" !!!! Nibbles 10-27-2006, 12:07 PM I gained 27 lbs while prego with my son. Had an 8 lb baby boy. Took about 2 months to get back to my normal weight. I weigh less now than I did before i was pregnant though. -Nibbles coloradogrrrl 04-19-2007, 12:57 PM 12 pounds and my son was 9 pounds of it :tongue2: marcy 04-19-2007, 01:34 PM I lost an average of 20 pounds with each pregnancy and closer to 30 pounds after delivery and nursing for a bit. I was really ill with each baby. ravenglow 04-19-2007, 09:13 PM I gained 15 pounds with my son--the only thing I honestly craved was, get this----unsweetened grapefruit juice and it had to come in a can  I also had morning sickness the entire time; not the usual 3 or 4 months or whatever they say. At my 2 week check up I was 10 lbs less than I was when I got pregnant (ofcourse I started out pretty chubby ;) ) |
