Is anyone dressing up for Halloween? Attending any dress up parties and/or contests?

I bartend for my 2 job, and we're having a halloween party Sat night for which I have to dress up.

I can honestly say I have NEVER dressed up for Halloween. Growing up my mother was a jehovah witness and we weren't allowed. After leaving the house, just never had an opportunity.

Anyway ......I went to ALOT of costume places looking for a costume and could only find .........well, dorky (the only word that fits) costumes ......(strawberries, belly dancer, etc). I did not think that would be appropriate for the "bartender" to be wearing.

I ended up going to an "adult" store with one of my girlfriends who said they had some cute stuff there and not just .....skimpy stuff. So we went, I tried on about 10 different costumes ...many were WAY to short. Ended up buying this police woman costume that I thought was really cute !!

I went home, put it on and asked my son what he thought .........he started laughing and said "Stripper Cop" .....ummmmm, what ?? Anyway, now I am totally self conscious and can not wear it !!

So what is everyone wearing????? I need ideas quick !

One year I was a killer rabbit.(think monty python). I created the costume. I made bunny feet out of stuffing and old white socks(stitched the toes). Then tore up and old button down flannel shirt and wore a white turtle neck under it. Bunny ears and bought a great set of buck teeth. Used a little fake blood and carried a hatchet. I thought it was pretty funny.

Ok. Now I REALLY like you! :D

Huge, horrible, viscious... *makes fang gesture with hands*

1, 2, .... 5!

Anyway, back to the original question. Well, I play RPGs (role-playing games like D&D stuff... I know.. I'm a geek and proud of it! :D ) So, I'm going to be a vampire or demon.

Fairly simple. Got some cool vampire fangs (comes with dental putty so you stick 'em to your eye teeth), a pair of horns (they have some you can just tie on or clip on). You can wear regular clothes (but I already have a black corset). Also got some and I use the term loosely "gothic" angel wings (... gothic means it's black and burgandy by the way.. because apparently that means gothic) so I can do the winged demon thing if I feel like it.

Anyway, if you are uncomfortable dressing up, go for the fangs and a little excessive eye makeup! :)

We usually dress up and go to our favorite pub with our friends. It's a rockin' lil Halloween party. I dunno what we will do this year.

I don't have time to dress up this year (too much work and it's definitely NOT considered appropriate to dress up at my places of employment!) and, after working last night, I am way too tired to do anything tonight so.... NEXT year, Tim and I are thinking about going as the Spartan Cheerleaders. *chuckle*
