Dating Older Women

How does a young guy like me go about dating an older woman if I feel some attraction? So you know, most women older than me by default see men my age as immature and uncertain about what they want in their life. I also know not all older women openly support this lifestyle. I have no problem dating my own age, but want to know, how can I express interest in an older woman without crossing the boundary? On the 'Net, its so much easier because you don't see the face.

Sincerely,
Derek

Hi Derek:

It depends on how much time you have to make a positive interaction. Most relationships here start with friendship (that takes time) and the OW is normally reluctant to go from friendship to romance. If you have the luxury of time, include in the conversation positive comments about attractive older women, with gentle comments about how attractive your prospective OW is.

Be natural, be yourself. My guy loves Nintendo, wrestling, rock, games and other young-guy activities, and I love him just the way he is.

Thanks.

I have to admit, this lifestyle is a new one for me, but I just had to let it out -- I've felt like this for a while. Its almost scary and at the same time, exciting, to do something new and truly be myself.

You know, that's one quality I think is admirable. Something that really gets to me is that I feel I have to put on a "face" with women my age. I feel freed knowing I can be natural and myself and not have to worry about being judged.

I've been kind've cautious on these forums. I did reluctantly send out a few e-mails, but I also, at the same time, am tredding this one lightly, if I can. I really am glad to have found this place. It seems most groups are dedicated to just sex and I'm looking for commitment in the end.

I'll try to contribute in the best way I can.

Sincerely,
Derek

Welcome Derek!

Shiela's advice is great; but then I've never seen her post anything that wasn't. I'd give you my advice, but I'd just be repeating hers, so I'll simply say "ditto".
