Did anybody else watch the series premiere of "Dragnet" this past Sunday? I've never seen the original, but this version (starring Ed O'Neill) is awesome!! It kept me interested the whole time, which is unheard of for a crime drama.

When I saw the ads on tv for the new Dragnet I went nuts...

Ed O'Niel is an amazing actor and anyone who looks at him and can only see Al Bundy needs to look again. Rent the movies Popeye Doyal and Dutch (which also starts Ethan Embry, his co-star on Dragnet before he grew up).

So far after two episodes I'm hooked. The writing is top notch and entertaining. I look forward to a long run for this classic show.

I missed the first episode but I can't believe "Al Bundy" is playing Joe Friday. I can't label Ed O Neil as another person other than Al Bundy and I think it is his face that makes me laugh and not take him serious!

I am with Tyger on this one... Everytime I see Ed i think of Al.... and I just cant see him being that serious... I liked the original dragnet better... I am hooked on the Law and Order series though... especially Criminal Intent. They both are produced by the same person I think....

So far about six episodes in it's a pretty damn good show. I suggest watching it.

And yes, Dick Wolf, producer of Law and Order (all 12 of them) as well as A-Team, Riptide and a number of other shows is the creator/producer in its current form.
