Help! Pink Eye

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with pink eye (viral conjunctivitis)? I think I picked it up at a busy beauty salon. Maybe from towels or gowns. It is transmitted through contact and then rubbing your eye ...

I'm going crazy. I had it for 2 days and finally broke down and went to the eye doctor. The upper and lower lids were swollen, the eye was red and tearing out of control, and the doctor gave me antibiotic/steroid drops. Antibiotics don't work on viruses. When I asked the pharmacist why I was given them, he told me that the doctor was probably trying to prevent any secondary bacterial infections! I became allergic to this medication, developing welts on the skin under my eye.

I read that bathing the eye with saline solution works best, but I also heard about home remedies with tea bags on your eyes, etc.

Anybody???? Please, I'm miserable !!!!!!!!!!!!

You can put colloidal silver directly into the eye. It's a natural antibiotic. We have actually used it for pink eye. Works miracles. You can get it at the Health Food Store.

Thanx Kindanice, I will try that. It isn't getting any better and this is Day 6. I'm still horribly miserable !!!!!!!!!!! It's itchy, sticky, oozing and I can't see so good out of that eye. Any other suggestions are welcome!
