Is Agelesslove Uniting Us??

I was messaging an Australian member of Agelesslove the other day, and thinking about the ties that bind us across oceans, distant seas and faraway lands....:)

And the role that Agelesslove does or doesn't play in that process.
Some of you in LDRs might have thoughts on this topic.

SUNDAY'S QUESTION OF THE DAY IS...

DOES AGELESSLOVE TEND TO UNITE ENGLISH-SPEAKING PEOPLES ACROSS THE GLOBE??

I truly have no idea, although I want to think it does. Your thoughts? :D

Take a vote! ;)

of course it does!!! i've maintained a long term, almost daily email friendship with a woman from ireland whom i met on here. she's been a wonderful, rich addition to my body of friends, and i'm hoping to see her this year.

I think that the Caribbean should have been included. That is an English speaking region and Panama has strong cultural ties with the Caribbean.

English is pretty much a universal language, as languages go.

I think AL unites us...

Edit to add: Thanks for adding the Caribbean, and my vote being there. :D

Awesome, Kat!! I like to hear stories like that. :)

I imagine that once everybody finally wakes up and starts voting, we'll see quite a few Canadian votes.

 Shhh! Be very careful when saying that around the French. Someone might get hurt. ;)

I think AL has the potential to unite us on more than the personal level. The basis for most of us being here is that we are in large age gap relationships, which by and large, can be a difficult situation to be in at times.

We all bring our individual filters to the forum and see others from our cultures and heritage. I think it would unite us more if we could try to look beyond where we have been planted on this earth and realize that the gardens of the world are very, very different than our own individual place.

I, too, have made friends around the world. Europe, Australia, Canada, Central America, all over the U.S. and in the Middle East as well. It's great to think of these people that I enjoy so much living their lives differently than I do, but all of us growing and learning from one another just the same.

One of my fondests wishes is that I meet some of the people I have met when I travel either personally and on business and put a face and context behind the on line persona.

Of course it does. We are people from all over the world coming together because of a common theme.. AGRs.

Over the years I have made friends in many other countries, some of whom I plan to meet one day. We would never have met had it not been for this site.

There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of internet forums that have members from many countries participating. They cover every subject imaginable. These internet forums are having a great impact in bringing people from around the globe together, but not ageless love alone.

English is indeed the defacto universal language. It is taught as a second language around the globe. My car club is international in its structure, our magazine is published in english, and is mailed to addresses on every continent.

Geo55 is right. All forums unite people from didderent parts of the world.
As to the English language making it easier for people to come together, it is true that English has been the new global language for decades.

After WW2, the USA became politically and economically superior, a superpower with a trong cultural and economical influence, pushed away the French and made English the international language for communication.

So in short, if you speak English, you can have fun on forums (among other more important things) and if you are French and you spik like zis, you can go hiking. :D

I guess I am lucky my second language is English. Unfortunately, I couldn't recommend this site to many of my friends - whatever their age - as their grasp of English isn't as universal as it apparently should be.

I was really inspired when I searched for "age-gap relationships" in English first. I later checked if there was anything about the subject in French and I would have felt horrible having even had feelings for someone that young had I started there!

I don't know about feeling 'united' but I certainly feel supported by the knowledge that there are people who live happily in an age-gap relationship and that in some parts of the world these relationship are starting to be better accepted than they used to be.

Hey, Enamour...

That's good enough. Your feelings and your heart belong to us collectively.
We consider you united!! :D

Wow!! :) :D

So far we officially have: Australia, Belgium, Canada, India, Panama and the USA.

Still waiting for the Brits and the South Africans to proudly stand up and be counted. I know they are here; I've seen them post.... :D
