How many of you use birth control pills? I’, 43 and still use the pills just to keep my menstruation periodically. I’m thinking of stop using it but instead ask my doctor to have some other to add some hormones with oestrogen just to keep my skin not to dry. What are your opinions about hormones? Good or bad for your health?

As birth control pills increase your risk of stroke, heart attack and blood clots I would suggest that you discontinue use of them unless you need them for birth control. These things are more likely to happen if you are over 35 or smoke or have high blood pressure or cholesterol issues. I used to be on the pill but have given them up in an effort to conceive and I am intending not to use them again due to my age and the risk factors.
As for taking oestrogen I think that there is an increased risk in breast cancer involved there. My mother who is recovering from breast cancer was told immediately not to touch HRT again. Then again it is said to help with heart health & with osteoporosis so it's all very confusing.
Personally I'd look into something natural, afterall women got by without medical intervention for centuries and my guess is that alternative therapies of some sort was what got them through.
