What are you a sucker for?

Bill has been calling me. He knows that it will take time before I can ever trust him again. I had so much anger for what he did to me. He kept calling & asking for forgiveness. I was finally able to forgive (not forget.. forgive). He also called my son and told him that he was sorry about what he did to me. He has promised that it will never happen again. Well time will tell, only this time I am keeping my guard up.

But he did something today that was really sweet. He sent me 2 dozen roses. They are beautiful with different colors from red to pink to yellow with peach trim.

It is nice to have a Valentine. I can remember times when I didn't always get something. I can remember making it a big deal in my mind when I was younger. Thinking I just had to have something. That the guy HAS to prove something to me. But you know what? Flowers don't prove the future or wipe out the past.

But they make me smile & I believe the thought behind them is sincere. I admit that I am a sucker for flowers, candy, etc. and sometimes even for the guy that sent them. Care to share your best or worse Valentines Day?

I'm spending the weekend with my girlfriend from out of town.

We are going to have chinese food Friday night and talk about our guys and how much we miss them.

~The single chocolate chip Jonathan brings and places in my mouth, after he's done mixing the dough, every time he bakes chocolate chip cookies (a twice-monthly occurrence).

~The way Jonathan is so attuned to me that I can't cry without him knowing it no matter how hard I try to hide it. And the fact that no matter what he's doing, no matter how busy he is, he ALWAYS drops everything and comes to hold me.

~The way Jonathan brings a comforter and lies beside me on the floor when I fall asleep on the couch, rather than go to bed without me.

~The way Jonathan has NEVER once just rolled over and passed out.

~The little nighttime ritual Jonathan instigated where he tells me he loves me, kisses me goodnight, holds me for a bit, then tells me to have sweet dreams... pausing between each for my responses... a ritual we've only missed a handful of times in the entire time we've been together. Even though we do this every night, it never feels old or meaningless. And it happens no matter how angry we've been with each other earlier in the day.

~The way Jonathan has taught me how very wrong I was when I believed there were no good men left in the world and had decided I'd rather learn to like being alone than to go through another relationship again.

I hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day! And if you're not in a relationship at the moment, never give up. I waited my entire adult life to meet a man who would love me like this. Someone is out there... don't give up.

Im a sucker for a woman with long hair. i love to sit in front of a fire watching a moving while playing with her hair. I find it very relaxing. For me long hair can smooth over other potential faults :)

Wow (!), SherwoodSpirit, there should be a law providing every woman with a personal right to have a Jonathan at home nourishing them. You two seem to be so sweet. Keep it that way!

As for me I'm longing for a man that could rub my back, gosh I like that!

For my Christmas present, my boyfriend bought me a book and wrote a message on the inside front cover - not only is it a personal touch, but my Mum so liked what he wrote that she decided to like him as well!!! <shock, horror>. But, yeah, I'm a sucker for written messages. Chocolate will however do in a pinch.
