Well, because of recent events, we finally have the ability to set the wedding.
We promised the kids a family trip this year and since we can't leave the baby to go on a honeymoon, we've decided to do it all at once!
We decided on a Disney fantasy trip! We will spend 3 days at a Disney resort and then take the 4 day Disney cruise!
The Disney trip is completely set up for families of all ages. There's something for everyone - including babysitting for the baby if Jeremy and I want to go out for the evening.
Of course, the kids will all have something to do at Disney World. The resort (we have to decide on Animal Kingdom or the Beach Club hotels) is right in the middle of the theme parks. The trip includes meal and park packages. The hotels have their own events and themed pools with slides. Jeremy & I can get the Pleasure Island package and go out to their clubs.
Then, my travel agent got us two cabins on the ship - one inside stateroom for the three older kids and across the hall is Jeremy's & my room (baby too), with a romantic veranda overlooking the ocean!! The ship offers all sorts of activities, pools, teen club, meals with characters, shore excursions like snorkeling and a trip to Disney's private island and lots of areas reserved for adults only getaways.
So, it seems the perfect way to have a vacation AND a honeymoon!
It looks like we'll be leaving July 26th - August 3rd.
So, that means we finally can set the wedding date! Probably the prior weekend - July 21st. Now we have to get hopping and get a hall and invitations and order the ring and... and... and....OMG I'm freeaking out now!!!!
Edited to add: Can I just say that I tried to do all this online myself. FORGET IT! I called a friend of mine who is a travel agent and it was all done after a phone call. Their fees barely made a dent and it was sooo worth it. And Disney gives special discounts and packages if you use an agent. Just FYI for people who think using an agent is too expensive! Laura is handling all of the details and has given me advice on things that I wouldn't have even known to ask!
Doing research online proved beneficial when she was talking about the different packages, but booking the stuff proved very confusing & time consuming and we wouldn't have been able to get the dates we wanted nor the cabins across from each other on the ship without her. All those commercials for travel sites make it look so easy, but nothing is easier than calling a good travel agent!
