Gosh... another new look for ole Ageless and over 23,000 members??? YIKES! But just a quick note to say HI to any old members out there (and I do not necessarily mean age-wise!:bgrin2: ) who may remember me!
I have been in Belgrade for almost 3 months now and am loving every minute of it. I have been homesick only once, which is really unbelievable. Christmas here was beautiful (Jan 7th) as were the decorations, and I celebrated the New Year (Jan 13th) at an outside concert in front of the Parliament along with 50,000+ people.
A teaching position at a private school literally "dropped in my lap" the last week of Jan in the IB program, and I am enjoying that as it is only one day a week! The kids are the same there though as in the states as they want something for nothing! I still volunteer at the American Corner and hold conversation hours and had to co-host a lecture about a book that dealt with American essays that was televised.
The weather has been exceptionally warm, and it snowed only for one day; so for this FLA woman, it was a bit disappointing. Spring had come early, and it was beautiful as the buds on the trees and the flowers began to bloom and be planted. The outdoor cafes have just about all been set up, and it is so nice to have coffee outside already and to "people watch". Flowers are sold everywhere already, and the traveling gypsy musicians add to the flavor of the city.
Now onto the "juicy part"! :tongue2: Nikola and I are still very much in love, and he has not been ashamed at all to show how much he is in love with me when we are out in public. I did almost faint when he kissed me in front of people the first time, but now I have just come to accept the fact that this man is remarkable in this way, too. I do, however, still have to pinch myself every now and then as I find it hard to believe that one of Belgrade's most eligible bachelors wants me out of all the beautiful women here (and trust me; Serbian woman ARE gorgeous!). He is taking me on a romantic train ride to Montenegro in two weeks as I need to go out of the country every 90 days, and he thought that would be nicer than just taking me via car. He is amazing to say the least, and we get along so well, it really does feel like we had known each other in a former life! I have never felt this loved...ever!!!
Take care everyone! Caio!
