Hello everyone! After a few months of lurking (as they say on the Web), a couple of days ago I decided to register on this board.
Let me introduce myself first... I am a young-looking and -feeling 46 year-old woman who lives in the Eternal City of Rome. At the moment I'm doing a PhD in Comparative Literature, but I worked for almost twenty years, first as a language teacher (English and Italian), then for the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
One year ago, on another board dedicated to rock music (a great passion of mine since I was a teenager), I met my SO, a 37-year-old US citizen whose marriage was on its last legs. After a couple of months, we realised we were falling in love... Needless to say, he immediately decided to separate from his wife (with whom he'd had three children), as neither of us are into extramarital relationship. We first met in person in October 2006, and the chemistry was sizzling to say the least. Now, after having spent quite a bit of time together, we are engaged to be married.
Sounds like a fairytale? Well, I research them for my PhD, so that shouldn't be so surprising... I've had other experiences with YM (my longest relationship so far was with a man who was 8 years my junior, though we were much younger at the time), and for a time I thought an older man would be the best choice for me... How wrong I was! My fiancé is my true soulmate, and I can't wait for the moment we won't have to be apart any longer.
