Amazing Discovery: Heart Attacks and CelllifeChatterbox 05-05-2007, 12:21 PM http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18368186/site/newsweek/ WOW! kat7 05-05-2007, 02:48 PM Thanks for posting that. I'm so busy with school, I don't get to keep up with my own profession... I think this is fascinating from a scientific/research perspective. From an ethical viewpoint, I think it's a nightmare. For example, there are already too many people on the planet, taking up space, using up resources...why should we save someone who is already dead? Conversely, who gets to decide when we should try this technique, and on whom? A 10 year old? An 80 year old? What's the cut off? And if a person is revived, and they're a vegetable anyway, who pays for their care? Should the family become bankrupt because of scientific advances? This got me thinking...I need a nap! |
