I've been reading threads here for more than a year, and now I'd like to join in. Will you welcome me? I already feel so much respect and admiration for the good people here, on both sides of the board. You're very brave to talk so openly about your joys and heartaches, and to hold fast to your belief in the power of love, even the self-described cynics among you. I think that's what makes us truly ageless.
I'm not in a relationship now, but I had quite an amazing adventure in romance with a handsome young man for three years. He was too young, unfortunately... not so much young in years but rather, way too immature, and his sense of his inner self is still underdeveloped. He was overwhelmed by the relentless negativity of his family toward me and our very large age gap, and it eventually torn him down and broke us apart.
The breakup torn me down, too, for many months. But I'm coming out of it now... better, stronger, and still a hopeless romantic. No, make that a hopeful romantic.
I'm very happy to be here.
