Face exerciser

Hi everyone:

I just wanted to share a really cool and somewhat strange thing I happened upon a few weeks ago.

After looking in to plastic surgery for the lower face, and finding it out of reach at the present moment, I started researching for other ways to improve a sagging jawline. It's called the flexawaysystem. [mod edit - PM the member for the URL]

I ordered one and have been using it for about 3 weeks now. It works! My husband has already noticed the difference, and so have I. It looks really strange but hey, it makes sense. Resistance exercise for the face!

Too bad I didn't take any before and after pics!

Wow, those before and after photos are amazing.

I don't understand how it works though.. is this something you put on the outside and press against the muscles? Or something you put inside your mouth and then .. what?

Can you explain what you do with it exactly?

Look at the faces of dancers and yoga practitioners: their faces are always up where they belong, no jowels, no turkey necks, and I believe it's because, in addition to the fact that they watch their weight, they use those muscles during their exercises, so I can see where a face exerciser would work, and I'm glad it worked so well for you, Iahnia.

The pic is gone now, but QVC has one that you put inside your mouth and use, i do know that.

You hold it in your mouth with the little "buttons" at the outside of your lips. You contract your mouth into a flat "O" shape, using the rubber bands as resistance. It definitely uses muscles in the face in a new way. It's kinda wierd to learn to use the first time, but they send a DVD with it that shows you. It's much cheaper than surgery and only takes a few minutes of your time, although you look like a right fool doing it. I won't let my husband watch me, lol. It may not keep me from EVER needing a face lift, but at least it will put it off for a while.

I have done yoga in the past quite regularly, but I never found any asanas that made a difference to my face. Maybe I didn't get into it deeply enough.

Like anything like that you have to DO it, and follow directions. I believe they have a guarantee also. :)

Does it cause any soreness in your facial muscles when you first start using it?

I ordered one. It arrived yesterday. I'm still struggling to figure out the right way to position it in my mouth. LOL But, I am hoping it does work because I cringe everytime I look in the mirror at my sagging jowls and neckline.

I'll take before and after photos and see if anyone can see the difference.

I used it this morning for 2 minutes only, as indicated. That was about an hour and a half ago and my facial muscles definitely feel like they have been through a workout. The hardest part about it for me is figuring out how to (a) position it in my mouth and (b) to keep it in there while exercising. LOL But, I figure I'll have it down pat in no time and will post some before/after pictures in a few weeks/months.

Sorry guys, I often fail to look at this part of the board!

I am still using mine..and yes I believe it is still working. At first I had some facial muscle soreness, but I don't anymore. I have to remember to change out the rubber bands every two weeks as directed also, or it gets too easy. I wish I had been able to take before and after pics. I just got a new camera, so maybe I can take some now and then 6 months from now....

I was noticing on myself that I seemed to be wrinkling my upper lip while using it, too, which will increase those "whistle marks". I emailed the company, and they suggested turning the device upside down and putting the shield at the top. It was a bit trickier to position that way, but it does seem to stop the wrinkling. Since I can't increase the resistance of the rubber bands, I am trying to use the device for a longer time each time, so I'm having to try to find a time to use it when my husband isn't home. LOL I refuse to let him see me doing this as I look utterly ridiculous and it also makes me DROOL!! :tongue2:

The facial exerciser sounds really interesting. I went to the web site and the before and after pictures look pretty amazing. I have found a facial mask that I'm really impressed with so far. Its called Distinction. The website is [mod edit- PM member for the URL] . I've only used it twice and I can already see a difference in the firmness of my skin and the fine lines are definately going away!

My daughter says that she is noticing a difference, Chris, and I notice it, too. For example, my jawline seems more defined than before. However, when I did take "after" pictures after two weeks, I really didn't notice any difference in the photos. So, I'm continuing to use it and will take more pictures in a few weeks.

Like Dian, I have noticed that my facial muscles are no longer sore. I have tightened the band once. Haven't changed it yet. And that does increase the resistance.

It really took me a couple of weeks of use just to figure out how to keep it in my mouth. LOL But, I've got it down pat now.
