Wasn't sure where to post this question, Anyone have a good self tanner they recommend? I use to love to tan and now that I turned 34 I deceided that I want to watch the aging of my skin. I have used a few tanners that work well. One that I bought for like 14.99 at Sallys Beauty supply that works great but it has a distinct smell to it that my husband doesn't like. And one that I bought from a cosmetic county I think it was Estee Lauder that doesn't work at all!

I'm still looking myself. Right now I am using one of those daily tanner/moisturizer lotions from Banana Boat. I can't get a "deep" tan with the fake stuff, it ALWAYS looks fake around the knees and elbows. Also the older your skin gets, the more blotchy the tan. I have just about given up on the whole tanning thing and just use the lotions to get a little color for the summer. Since I rarely go out with bare legs anymore anyhow it's not such a big deal. I am starting to try to find long breezy skirts to wear in hot weather instead of shorts or jeans.
One of the girls I work with gets regular spray tans. She says they only last about 3 days and you have to supplement with the lotions to make them last longer. She has a monthly membership at one of the spray tan salons that gives her unlimited tans for about $60 a month. Not something I am willing to pay for myself.

Since being diagnosed with MS in '98.....I no longer tan in a tanning bed or out in the sun. The heat does me in something horrible. My neurologist instructed, "Tracy, avoid heat like it's the plague." Something about folks with MS feeling heat differently than "normal" people. Our brains feel 88 degrees like 98 degrees. Don't have to tell me twice!
Add to this, i'm the whitest person i know, lol, I'm Irish and i look like oomfoofoo without some color to my skin, and you have my criteria for seeking out tans in bottles.
After almost 10 years, I've found a great product......L'Oreal Sublime Glow. I use the "medium" but you can also get Sublime Bronze for a darker color.
It's a micro-mist that needs NO rubbing in. You just spray it in a fast motion around what you're aiming at ie: arm, leg, bootaaaay, chest....
I absolutely LOVE it. I've used it for 3 days and I have a lovely color now. No orange or streaky look here. It almost dries instantly, too. Here in Miss'ippi, it's about $8 a can.
Hope this helps. :)

I have to chime in here about the Loreal Sublime. It is GREAT stuff! I have had absolutely zero streaking nor any icky orange-y color. It gives you a very lovely, natural shade. And I have a very light complexion. Also, It does not smell overbearingly peeyewwww like alot of other self tanners.

I've been using Hawaiian Tropic self-tanning lotion (light color) and it looks very natural.
