A Friendly Astrological Reminder....

Mercury will be in retrograde starting June15 (it lasts about 3 weeks - until July 10th. It happens 3 times a year...). It may sound kooky, but I will go ahead and post a little info about it. Take it or leave it....for me, it seems particularly influential and I try to cut myself - and everyone else - a little slack during these times. :o

In general, Mercury rules thinking and perception, processing and disseminating information and all means of communication, commerce, education and transportation...

Mercury retrograde gives rise to personal misunderstandings; flawed, disrupted, or delayed communications, negotiations and trade; glitches and breakdowns with phones, computers, cars, buses, and trains. And all of these problems usually arise because some crucial piece of information, or component, has gone astray, or awry.

...Mercury is all about mental clarity and the power of the mind, so when Mercury is retrograde, these intellectual characteristics tend to be less acute than usual, as the critical faculties are dimmed. Make sure you pay attention to the small print!

The Key Issue

The key issue here is one of focus. Mercury's retro phase tends to bring unforeseen changes and blockages, but the aggravation and frustration that many of us experience during these periods is often due to our own inability to roll with the punches. Is this due to our ego-fixation? Mercury sets out to restructure our thinking processes and for many of us this is painful and frustrating. Moreover, these experiences reveal flaws in our internal organisation as well as our external planning, which can make us feel foolish and inadequate.

Mercury retrograde, like any cosmic aspect, affects people differently, depending on where it hits their personal charts. Some people actually prosper under a retro Mercury, especially if Mercury is retrograde but otherwise well-aspected in their birth charts. It is also a time when matters begun under a previous retro period will come to fruition, or completion as the case may be. OH great! :rolleyes: Right during the scheduled visit of my step-daughter, my mother-in-law, and a drop in visit from the father-in-law(my husband's parents are divorced and we are hoping to keep them from running into each other!).

Yeah, it starts tomorrow in the Eastern time zone. My Mercury is in Cancer, so this should be fun. I'll have a hard time putting my feelings into words, and my depth perception will be shallow. I acutally am a triple Cancer and a triple Libra.

Me and my more "eclectic" friends ALWAYS experience unexpected problems when Mercury is in retrograde. In fact, when we're out lamenting about an abundance of issues, one of us always inquires, "Does anyone know if Mercury is in retrograde?" lol! Glad we're not the only weirdos around. :tongue2:

Goodness, not a good time for me!! I'll be having excessive memory lapses and overeating because I forgoten how to back away from the food. What a mess! :bgrin2:

I checked it out (http://www.khaldea.com/kldaephem/2000/jun2007gmt.shtml), and towards the end of this month we'll have Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in retrograde.

By reading other threads I think that the board is going through a "Mercury retrograding" makeover. ;)

Good Lord, if I went by that, even just reading my own threads and posts, it would seem the universe is in a constant state of "astrological" humor.........so to speak LOL!

It's another of those tricky time zone issues, as in places East of Greenwich (Europe; Asia; Africa; Australia; New Zealand) it happens on the 16th! Technically, Mercury is not in retrograde, but has not past the point in it's direct motion where it first began it's retrograde movement.
