On We Television tonight:

COUGARS
http://www.we.tv/shows/secretlives/episodes/4762593

See the links to the left for the women's blogs & video clips.

They didn't do too badly, but they called women in relationships or who didn't go seeking YM cougars, too. One woman has only been with her YM and they put under her name "Dates Younger Men" when really she has only been with one younger man.

One cool thing is they interviewed the woman who wrote the book, "Cougars" and she said that it used to be that the women were the hunters, but now it's 180 degrees and the young men are "cougar hunters."

One 49 year old woman was the stereotypical cougar - animal print halter and all. (Kiki) LOL

And both "relationships" said they didn't expect it to last. The woman who wrote "Cougars" also said they don't typically last, but that she is seeing more and more OW/YM marriages and that are lasting as long a same age marriages or longer.

I'm watching this right now. Geez, I hate that word "Cougar!" The women they depict come across as pretty cougarish too. And what fries me is that I think this is largely the way they have edited it. But I agree, they do talk about some really pertinent issues, e.g. plastic surgery and meeting his mother. I think this is worth a watch!

Okay, is it wrong of me to hate the term "cougar" but not mind the term "cougar hunter?" It probably is... :tongue2:

I actually agree with this. I'm not really sure why.

Probably because it is more accurate for most of us - having been the pursued and not the pursuer.

Jeremy had been out with a couple older women in the past, yet I had never dated a much younger man (other than a Junior when I ws a Senior in high school) so that would make him more of a cougar hunter than I am a cougar!!

I have dated someone a few years younger and one that was 16, but I mainly would date someone around my age. Kai pursued me HARD.

The term cougar does not bother me to much as it is just words and I know I am no cougar (unless I get upset and the claws come out LOL)
I do feel though that if used wrong it is just as bad as some of the other choice name calling people can use.

OH PEACHY LOVE so I see you mentioned MILF if I'm a gramma does that make me a GILF? LOL j/k
