Saw this last night. Urgh. Wish I'd saved my £3. I have no idea why everyone is saying that Nicholson has a very good chance of winning the Oscar. His performance wasn't bad, it's simply a very confused film ranging between being depressing and being sentimental. Sure, there are some funny moments, but it could have been a lot smarter. The one thing I came out of the theatre thinking was that, if my bf is at all like that at 65, he will come in from a good deal of pummeling from yours truly!
