Well that was short lived...

and it had so much potential, but I have worked out all my emotional baggage and moved on, can't say the same for my YM though... his ex still has him by the balls and until he is man enough to stand up to her, I don't need the extra angst and complications! Ah well, it was nice while it lasted. Oh and don't get me wrong, age had nothing to do with it, many men my age can't discard their emotional baggage either! Time to move on...

So sorry to hear about it. But you were lucky in the sense that it ended early. When we suffer a breakup after a prolonged and intense relationship, it just shatters us...at least it shattered me and I am yet to recover fully. Praying that you find your soulmate soon :)

i did the "dating someone with baggage" thing before, it was kinda rough

she just got out of a longterm relationship and viewed me as the replacement of previous old boyfriend
she kept making suggestions about my apperience that resulted in me looking more like her ex.
the last straw was finding a box filled with all her old pictures and letters
had to let that relationship go before it got out of the dating stage, just seemed creepy to be with someone who only viewed me as a replacement for someone else insted of loving me for who i am myself

anyway not sure if it helps but someones we are better off without that kind of drama and the person who has it needs to overcome it before they can have another serious relationship, however that is entirely possible and this person might come back into your life at a later date

not meant to offend as i don't know the entire situation, just what you told me

I am sorry but this made me laugh hard. I can imagine myself doing that to my bf. Honey, how about you put on a few pounds, yes, like 25 pounds, fantastic...would you be a sweety and wear black rimmed glasses? thank you,... dye your hair black baby, it is cool, by the way, you have too much hair on top of your head, let me trim that, the balding look is so sexy... Now wear these nerdy clothes and you will be just perfect!

Mentally_21: Sorry about the joke. But more sorry about your relationship ending. You sound like a survivor. Don't become a stranger now.

Sorry to hear your relationship ended but it sounds like you made the right choice given the circumstance.

I mirror Sheila's sentiment. Don't become a stranger, an AGR isn't a requirement of membership, it's just what guides our way here.

I don't need the extra angst and complications! . . . Time to move on...

I know the feeling. I'd much rather be "on the market" than be burdened with too much drama. Life's challenging enough as it is!

Also sorry to hear, the right timing is so important in these things. Better luck next time!
