i think the reasons ANY relationship work or don't work are generally the same. i'm not sure the whole older/younger dynamic has much to do with whether a relationship is going to succeed or not...

In a nutshell it can work if two people are in love and their ages are inconsequential. It can fail if the only attraction is that the ages are more important than the person.

Some people seek an older partner thinking that it will somehow be a better experience than with a young one. That's not true and practically a guarantee for failure.
