I was thinking waaaay back to my days as a kid and I thought of a moment that I'm sure we've all had - the first time someone from the opposite gender makes a positive play for you. On the playground, in school... wherever.

Now what I mean by "positive" is that we're not counting abusive, exploitative stuff. No, no, no.......We don't want to go there. I'm talking the nice, cutesy-pie stuff that you think back to and go "Awwww...." :) The kind of thing that you wouldn't mind your own kids going through.

This could be a fun thread as everyone piles on.

* How old were you?

* What was your reaction?

* Did you tell anyone, or was it your secret? ;)

Would love to hear what everyone has to share. :p

LOL I was 7 and his name was Gary browning. He was 5 He wanted to marry me and gave me a ring that had a fish on it. I have it to this day LOL
So we got married on the playground underneath a tree near the slide.
As a veil I took my moms lace tablecloth and wore it. NOW mind you it had rained that day. SO It got ALL muddy. (mom was not happy)

OH btw 2 days later I did not like him when he gave another girl a ring LOL

as far as kissing OH jeez I was 13 he was 15 He gave me a rose for valentines and a small soft kiss. I told my best friend holly and from then on I always liked those soft kisses

My first boyfriend was in 5th grade. I accidentally stole him from my best friend! Whoops! My brother convinced me to tell him who I liked, and he promised he wouldn't tell, but the next morning when I got on the school bus my friend already knew! She told her boyfriend that I liked him (I guess she expected him to be mad at me like she was), and he broke up with her and called me that night! His name was Erik and he had spiky blond hair and wore a leather jacket.

Our first kiss was in the parking lot of the roller skating rink we went to every Friday night. We were about to kiss when another friend's brother pulled up to give us a ride home, and when I went over to his car he said "oh, go kiss your boyfriend!" So I got all embarrassed, but I did go back and kissed him. And all of a sudden his tongue was in my mouth! I was so surprised I kept my eyes open the whole time! :D It was the most hilarious thing ever.

I was a cute kid. Really, I was a cute li'l rascal....and even then I caught the eye of the OG (older girls). :D lol

I must've been 8 or 9 when this happened. I know for a fact, it wasn't past age 9, so let's say 9. Somehow, I was at a stranger's house. Not sure why or anything. Anyway, this older female was sitting on a chair, and she called me to her. Said she wanted to tell me something.

In the haze of my memory, I remember thinking of her as an adult, since she was babysitting and had an infant in her arms. But I really believe she was an adolescent. If I had to pick her age, I'd say 14. Maybe 13 - not sure.

Anyway, I went over to where she was sitting and she put her lips close to my ear as though to whisper a secret. Then she gently bit my earlobe. Then looked at me.

I must've had a blank look on my face; I had no idea, at that time, what a bit ear meant. Just too young. So I just looked at her. Anyway I remember her gently laughing and then pushing me away with one hand. "You silly boy," is probably what she was thinking. lol

That was my first attention from a girl and it's cute to think back on it. I imagine she was waiting for a kiss or a bite in return, -- stuff which I had NO clue about. Hey, maybe other 9 year olds, but not me. :D

You might say I was her hoped-for vym that went bust. :p

Johnnie gave me all the malted milk easter eggs from his easer basket, just because I told him they were my favorite. And he said that some day we'd get married.

Engaged with candy.....

He's now a very shy, sort of misfit, scrawny, scraggly, older than his years man, who's never married anyone.

He turns bright red when he sees me, and can hardly talk.

But then there was Leo. *sigh* He gave me the record "Love is Blue" so I'd remember him over the winter. (He lived in our town with his Grandma in the summer, then went home over the school year. Not sure why actually). We used to wrestle in the alfalfa field, and when we played hide and seek in the neighborhood at night, we always hid together. He had eyes (still does) just like David Cassidy.

The next year he asked me for it back, so he could give it to another girl who he'd heard "put out".

Men suck, even when you're 12-13, LOL.

I was in second grade and I had it hot for this cute little black boy with redish/orange hair cut real close to his head.

I did the whole tell your friends you like him and then when they tell him you deny it thing. LOL.

One day we're lined up ...coming back from the bathrooms and he's in line next to me.

He asks..."Do you like me?" and I nod my head and he says "I like you too" and then

KISSES ME ON THE HAND!!! :D *swoon*

I didn't want to wash my hand ever! And everyone I know has heard that story about a million times cuz to this day I still think it's the cutest thing that's ever happend to me even though I can't remember the little boy's name. LOL.

We moved not too long after that...so nothing ever happened. *sigh*

I voted Yukky or Gross. Not because it was really Gross but because it was not as I imagined.

My very first love was a pen pal from Spain, at 13, so that does not count.

Then the real BIG first love was towards a gay boy who loved me dearly but was at that stage where he had to make his mind about his sexuality (we were 15) and he decided for the gay side. We never even kissed but wrote each other poems, exchanged gifts and had an eerie sort of telepathy. I spent 2 years in love with him, but finally we both gave up.

Totally frustrated about this and already 17 and never been kissed, I decided to let this tall dark stranger kiss me at a party. We later became bf/gf but we did not love each other, then I left for the US so bye bye.

7th grade his name was Bruce.......he was a tough kid, hair slicked...all the girls liked him.......but he liked ME.....swoon.....Halloween night he asked me to be his girl.....gave me his silver bracelet......and we sat down on the curb under the street light waiting for our friends to catch up to us.......and he turned his head to kiss me, the moment that I'd dreamt about....panic, sweaty palms, heart beating fast.......then he stuck his tongue in my mouth!!! His tongue!!! How gross was that?? That was not how I had my first kiss played out in my head!... I shoved him off the curb and ran all the way home.......I couldn't believe that someone would stick their nasty tongue in my mouth!!! lol.......he must have been running after me, cause when I ran into the house, the doorbell rang........and he says to me, "i want my bracelet back now, we ain't going out no more (he spoke awful english).

It was the most awful night of my life...but still dear to me....lol

I don't really remember exactly how old I was when I first kissed. But, I had my first boyfriend when I was 6 years old. :D I had met a boy at my grandmother's church during vacation bible school that I thought was soooooo cute. :p His name was David.

And then about a week before first grade started, I went to a skating party and there he was!!! We spent the entire evening skating together. We decided we would be boyfriend and girlfriend. At age six!! LOL

But, David and I stayed together as a couple from first grade through sixth grade. What can I say? I'm loyal. :D

Over the years there were many jealous kids trying to break us up. Lots of angry notes sent to me by girls who wanted David to be their boyfriend. Lots of notes from girls forewarning me that "so and so is trying to break you up." :ohthedrama:

One boy got into a fist fight with David and punched out David's front tooth. It was an adult tooth and so he still has to wear a partial plate. Poor guy. I always felt bad about that. :(

I really don't remember exactly when we first kissed, but I too remember when we first "french kissed". I remember thinking "how weird, he put his tongue in my mouth. now what do I do about about that??"

Everything changed when we started 7th grade. I guess we both were finally growing out of our relationship. LOL

I was raised in very small town in southeast SD. I also was 5'8" in 7th grade. That long ago, most guys would not even entertain the idea of liking a girl much taller then themselves.

My freshman year, a school about 6 miles away, closed and all the students were moved to our school. One new male student who was tall 6'3" seemed to catch the eye of every girl in our school. They flirted like crazy with him, in fact, they threw themselves at him. For months the talk was about who would end up with him as their b/f. (I always thought these were the strangest conversations - how were the girls themselves going to figure out who he would/might end up liking?!) He just didn't seem interested in any girl. But they kept on trying, I guess in case he changed his mind they would be right there. ~lol~

I've always had a lot of friends, however never been one to follow the crowd nor expect the crowd to follow me. In fact it never occurred to me to mention to anyone what I was thinking or going to do, unless I was actually asking someone if they wanted to go do 'such n such'.

Anyway, I had just been watching this whole 'gaga' thing going on with all the girls, thinking man you guys are making fools of yourself.

About seven months later when I was in the school library looking for a book, here he came, I said hi, he said hi - I went about looking for the book, found it, I was just going to step out of aisle to go check the book out, when he asked if he could talk to me. I said sure - he told me he had been watching me for months and he really liked me, would I be his g/f ... I said, you seem nice, I can't be your g/f because I don't know you. He asked me out on a date, saying that was the only way for us to get to know each other. I said, well how about we go hiking instead together. I'm telling you we hiked a ton. After three months of hiking, this time we hiked into a cave, once there, we just sat down and talked. He asked me if I felt like I knew him yet, I said, I thought so and he still seemed very nice.

Then he leaned over and gave me the most fantastic kiss - oh my, oh my he was a good kisser. We were a couple for two years.

There is a really sad ending to this story so I will just keep it to the good stuff.

Very late bloomer here. No kiss until 18! And in the armed forces, was out with a good looking soldier, we had too much to drink (I had NEVER had a drink before this). I was very lucky, as he was very polite, and after a few sloppy, wet kisses I had enough. So he took me back to my barracks. So I voted, hard to remember, but thinking about it now, not very pleasant is a good synopsis of that date!

LOL - my childhood was riddled with the boys I *didn't* want liking me, pledging to love me until death!

When I was 8, Brian Somereck would follow me home. One day, when my dad asked who he was, he told him he was my fiance. I didn't know what 'fiance' meant until my dad told me. I was SO MAD!! LOL!

In fifth grade, Eric Bollinger - I did NOT like him at all but he would stand next to me in school and, when I wasn't looking, he would pretend he had his arm around me.

In seventh grade, I finally had a crush on the CUTEST BOY ever and he liked me back! ::: happy dance ::: He walked me home one day and asked if he could kiss me. As much as I wanted to, I said 'no.' He broke up with me a week later! LOL!

In 8th grade, someone dared me to kiss Jay Corley. Never one to turn down a dare, I ran up to him, said something stupid like, "Pucker up, Pal" (I think I heard Lavern say that on 'Lavern and Shirley') and laid one on him before running away. Did I mention that he came out of the closet at the 10 year high school reunion?

There were a few other hits and misses but the first real, knock one out of the ball park kiss came from the boy who first stole my heart: Bobby Wright. I'll save the story for another time but suffice it to say it was the 'first love' the best teen romance movies are made of. :o

Mine was in Junior High out behind the school after dark.:tongue2: I thought the guy was so cool, until he kissed me. I was very naive as far as the facts of life until I was much older. He used his tongue and I was so confused as to what he was doing, I started giggling. He got upset with me.
