As you may or may not know..our (Canadian) Thanksgiving is tomorrow. AND my OM is coming to help celebrate it. He has a week of vacation which he is spending here :yay: The last few days I felt like I was in a daze. He's been here before for weekends, and I've visited for weekends..but this will be the the first chance we've had to spend some serious time together, without having an immediate departure date (as in within a day or two of arriving) :bgrin2: As you can tell..I'm just a wee bit excited.
That's great! So what's on the menu for tomorrow's feast?

Traditional turkey..brining it right now as a matter of fact..and all the trimmings. Pumpkin Pie for dessert..with real whipped cream, not that edible oil stuff lol.

Sounds like fun. Those week long visits are great. I remember our "Thanksgiving" together 2 years ago. It was a week or so before the actual holiday; he was visiting me and I had to work the whole week. I came home around 9pm, he had roasted a turkey breast, made mashed potatoes, baked a frozen pie and was wearing his kimono kind of robe with his hair up in a sort of Samurai sort doo. There he was, a big, burly kind of man, a warrior...standing in front of the stove making mashed potatoes so we could have a "Thanksgiving" together. Just thinking about that night makes me smile! Have a great time!!

Thanks Rozie and miu..down to 3 hours or so before he gets here. The bird is in the oven..veggies are peeled and ready to go. Dang..that reminds me..I need to do the whipped cream. For the pumpkin pie! What else could it be used for??? :angel:

Can? EWWWWWWWWWW :eek: lol. Going with the real full fat version..it's Thanksgiving..I'm allowed to splurge :bunny_4:
But cans are so much more portable... ;)

Well..my week from heaven is at an end. :( He left for home today. But we had a great time together. Back to chatting online for another month..unless I can manage to visit him for a weekend before November. As he said today as he was leaving..today is one day closer until we can be together again.
How am I with this? Well, today was a hard day. Tomorrow will be better. And I have all the wonderful memories we made this past week.
