Immigration from Canada to U.S.

Hi guys,

I have not posted much for a while, hope youre all doing great :) I miss you, and hope to be back soon.

I am rushed with alot of crazy stuff going on right now...and I know I could search for some of this stuff...but IF you wouldnt mind...

It would mean so much to me if those of you who have gone thru this (i think there's a few couples) could give me some info...

I am interested in finding out about someone immigrating from Canada to the U.S., especially how long it takes to get a permit or whatever is needed to be able to work here.

And anything else you might want to share.

Not for a while she hasn't. Don't know how long she'll be.

oh gosh.... if i remember. filing a fiance visa? which take about 5 months to process. then, because we were able to get work authorization at point of entry, we got social security number for husband right away and he was working within 2 months. now if memory serves me correct, lawyer told us if we did not get the work stamp at POE it was going to take him 3 months to get the permit.
for immigration, and since a lot has probably changed in the 3 years since we did it, go to visa journey.

Thanks. I did contact an immigration lawyer also. I'm just at the point of trying to get info for him right now, because he's asked :)

We've been talking about it but i dont want to rush him with anything ;)

(even tho i'm a very impatient person lol)

what an exciting time!!!!!! when you get to the paper filing point, it is going to seem F O R E V E R!!!! and immigration seems to do everything possible to go slow and piss ya off with waiting! i remember thinking you are taking your time with my life!!!
we are at the point now of filing for his 10 year card, then citizenship.... i am so sick of handing over money to lawyer/government(fees went way up) i just want to be done with the lot of them! plus too, if husband did not become a citizen, if he EVER leaves the country for 6 months or more...ALL rights and everything he paid into the system is GONE! fortunately he can have dual citizienship.

oh! and jelly...spill more! all ears here!

But it may just be a mood hes goin thru lol... like i said, i'm not pushing anything, because he's always said he loves where he lives. So i'm not quite sure what's goin on... I will update more soon :bgrin2: :yes:

listen up ;) i "heard" that from the netherlands too, that his life was ok.... but when they get to the thinking/bringing up immigration...they are damn serious...so bust! tell!!!

Well, just checking in to say that *minor* irritations are bothering me...

When many minor ones add up, they become major, to me anyway - who's been alone for 8 years. Maybe i'm relationship-phobic...
