How about counting our blessings this morning?

I am grateful for...

Our wonderful foster care agency. It is a Christian agency and they practice what they preach. Our social worker is one of the kindest man I ever met, and I feel priviliged to be working for these people soon.

I am grateful for my kids. They are awesome young people. I am also very grateful that my DH Isaac is adopting them.

So added to that, I am grateful my ex was man enough to sign off his rights voluntarily. He will continue to have visitation with them, so the kids do not lose him as a biological dad. It has been amazing how relationships have healed to the point where all the adults involved strive to make sure the best interest of the kids is served at all times. We did my Noah's 10th birthday party yesterday and my ex, my DH and I, and my former MIL and FIL were all present and participating. One of the better gifts imo.

I am grateful for my wonderful friends, both IRL and online.

I am grateful for my newfound Catholic faith and my conversion this last Easter Vigil. I found my church home.

I am grateful for coffee.

So what are you grateful for today?

I am grateful for many things today..

I am grateful for the weather we are experiencing..end of Oct and still in the high teens..(east coast Canada)

...for my beautiful girls..and how well they get along with one another, most of the time

...that I found the courage and strength to leave my abusive marriage (will be single 7 months Nov 9th)

...for my parents and my grandmother (now in her mid eighties..may she live another 20 yrs in perfect health)

and most of all, to God for bringing the most thoughtful, kind, loving OM into my life.

P.S. thank you for this wonderful thread..what a great idea

I'm grateful:

- for my good health (knock on wood)

- to have so many lovely BBWs in my life (spouse + Agelesslove friends) :D and SBWs too!

- to live in a wonderful part of the USA with evergreen forests, mountains, ocean and beautiful people

- to be born an American.... part of an infamous gang of loud-talking, gunslinging hustlers that MANY wish they could join. But only a few are chosen!

- for good, tasty German Chocolate Cake! Mmmm

- for good, kind, sweet, loving parents. The nicest anyone could hope for.

I guess I'll stop there. LOL

I had to think about this carefully, because I am more of a glass is half empty, it has a crack in it and the water is leaking out kind of person...ok maybe not THAT bad but bad enough at times.:p

SO ,,I am thankful that

All 5 of my kids are healthy and happy
That Clint and I are healthy and happy
That we are both employed
That my van is fixed even though it cost over 400 dollars to fix it and the parts were only 125 dollars.
Im greatful that My future MIL and I get along fabulously.
Im thankful that my mother and I are still on speaking terms, almost two years running after almost 3 years of not talking to each other.

Most of all Im happy to be alive to see everything that has unfolded in my life, to have been able to touch the lives that I have, to bring my children forth into this world and to have met and loved Clint because as a trouble teen I didnt think I was going to make it to 18 let alone 35. ;)

.....damn....I must be hormonal...that was just too mushy for me...I will let it stand even though everything in me is screaming DELETE DELETE DELETE!:p

I am grateful that I hauled pop's butt to the Dr and the meds are working so he is pain free and walking.

I am grateful for a job that I can telecommute and work flex hours, so I can take off to haul said old poop to the Dr.

I am grateful for the fact that pop thinks Steve is "a keeper" despite the agegap.

I am grateful for the fact that Steve likes pop (and loved my mom) so he has no problem with going to visit a *cranky old poop* (mom's description :p)

I am grateful for the fact that pop loved and cared for mom until the day she died, and loves her still.
