Ok. I've decided to put together a randomness thread. It can be anything you want to write. Random thoughts, pics, rants, raves, whateva....:D

I've decided, for the first time in seven weekends, not to go up to Canada on Friday.

Notwithstanding the crap that I was given at the border last week, I just think that it's time for a break. Not a "break", as in BREAK. Just time to take a week off from HAVING to go up to Canada.

I never thought that moving closer would be such a chore. I feel like an old married person the way things have gone on the past several weeks. I think it's time to let him miss me a bit. :)

I hurt my knee getting out of bed this morning. Why do my joints seem so much older than I am? Plus I've got a cold, and my insomnia seems to be back.


But, the icky summer is finally over and I'm essentially finished teaching until January! Woo!

I picked up a bunch of really really old boxes of stuff from my mother's a few days ago, and my hubby and I went looking throguh them tonight. It was nice, and also a little bit sad.

Every year Americans throw away approx 100 billion plastic bags.....It's equivalent to dumping 12 million barrels of oil.

In the Norther Pacific Gyre, a great vortex of ocean currents, there's a swirling mass of plastic trash about 1,000 miles off the coast of California, which spans an area that's twice the size of Texas, including fragments of plastic bags. There's six times as much plastic as biomass, including plankton and jellyfish, in the gyre.

On that note, I did buy a canvas bag at Trader Joe's a couple of weeks ago. I'll use that, and only take enough plastic bags to deal with my kitty pee. :)

Glad you bought that canvas bag Mish....I have some but sometimes I forget them and I always tell the person bagging my groceries...."Please put as much as you can in each bag." They just won't do it! They put like 3 things in each bag and you end up with 10 bags for $30.00 worth of groceries! Do they teach them this in their training or something? I end up consolidating stuff into less bags and they look at me like I'm some kind of whacko (maybe I am but not for this reason). Then half the stuff ends up falling out in your trunk anyway cause it just rolls around cause they're only 1/4 of the way full! My teenage daughter refuses to go to the grocery store with me now (not such a bad thing).

I missed work today and was unable to get in to the doctor until tomorrow....grrr...I know what it is, with this pain, pressure, and phlegm; it’s an icky sinus infection. Wish I could just get antibiotics over the counter, I get at least one a year and know what I need by now. Sigh. I endure!

Bright note: met my newest nephew today for the first time. Its official, I'm in love---baby-luv, that is. He's the sweetest, chubbiest baby ever. Sigh. Got to hold him, and cuddle him, and love him.....he's awesome!

Almost...I repeat, ALMOST...makes me want one of my own. But not quite. :)

My Mom and two of my four sisters are here for the weekend, with my three nephews and one of my nieces, staying at my third sister's house. My fourth sister is in the midst of much relationship messiness and she and my second niece are unable to be here with us. Miss them!

But shopping with sisters, antiquing with Mom, and playing with babies is my plan for the weekend!

Yay!

Again, the husband smiled and said, "Why don't you come back up to the bedroom and I'll show you what I'd really like for lunch."

So, off they went to the bedroom again.

That evening the husband came home, walked in the house and saw his new bride sliding down the banister of the stairs naked. Up she ran, and WHOOSH down the banister, again.

After the third trip the husband asked, "What the heck are you doing honey?"

To which the new bride replied, "Warming up your supper!"

My guy friend from Maryland came to visit me unexpectedly today and when he left, a huge sense of sadness left me. sigh. I found out the other day that one of my cats likes to take a wee in one of my pot plants. That explains why the leaves are brown and wilted!! At first I thought I hadn't been watering it enough but then I caught her mid squat one day. She's killed it!

My other cat is doing its best to kill my other pot plant, I came home the other day, couldn't find her for ages but then looked up and there she was curled up lying on TOP of my pot plant..she's almost twice the size of the pot, have no idea why she would find that comfy spilling out the sides like she was!

I only had the two pot plants! I now have two leaves left to water. :pppbbbttt:

The breeder that my parents got their black lab from gives ice cubes as treats to all the dogs. He still loves them, and hocks me for cubes when he hears me at the fridge. :D

Oh, yeah, and cats with plants. I can't bring a plant into my house without one of my cats attacking it within about 15 seconds. My OM got me the "chia kitty grass" planter for Christmas. Maybe having that will enable me to have other plants in my house without him chomping on them.

Nightmares drain me. I hate when you are crying in a dream and know you have been crying in your sleep.:(
