Accompaniments to Gaming

So, most gamers have things they use in addition to the actual game to make their gaming experience rokzor.

Currently, I use a couple different gaming keyboards (Z Board and Logitech) a joystick, and a gaming mouse.

I also use a program called X-Fire (http://www.xfire.com/) to keep up with my online buddies and what games they're playing. It's the gamer's version of Yahoo! or MSN messenger but even better as it has specific features built just for gamers.

I'm also a member of a few online gaming communities and love my gaming subscriptions.

So what really 'makes' that experience for you even better?

You know, we play really old school. No Ventrilo, all on different systems. My BF and I started using the phone on speaker, just the two of us, so he could keep me from having freekouts, plus I have a tendency to get lost getting to party. Most of us played on PC and when I started I used the keyboard to run because it was too hard to type and use a controller. Now I play on PS2. So guess we're pretty boring. There is something sort of intimate about typing everything, if that makes any sense.

Well I'm half and half. Alot of my games right now are on PS2 and one soon to be two on 360.

I have every Ace Combat game up to AC3 AC3 I don't have but it's the first AC game I played.

I use a gaming forum for AC. I am a mod of that forum and it's a gaming clan in which I am a high ranking member.

Since we are "pilots" we don't use enlisted rank. The ranks you get are based on what Air Wing you are in. That's based on the plane you select to use as your official plane in the group.

I currently fly 2. Primary is an F-14D Super Tomcat. Secondary is an F-4X Super Phantom

I am in the Sealancer Air Wing. I am eligible only for Navy ranks. I currently hold the rank of Commander. That is equal to Lieutenant Colonel. From that Air Wing I am in their Ghostriders Squadron. I am the XO (Executive Officer) of the Ghostriders.

I am the Commandant of their dissimilar flight school called Top Hat. In Top Hat I am the Executive Instructor of the F-14 training program and the Commanding Instructor of the F-4 training program.

I also am their Recon Officer and I spy on other squads we know about. I am also the Director of the clans intelligence agency which isn't supposed to exist and denies everything I do and say because most of the time they trust me enough not to even ask.



Aside from all that I do play LAN games with my buds playin some Halo 3 on the 360. My next purchase will be Ace Combat 6 which has moved over to the 360 Console.

Since I got the 360 Special Edition Halo 3 Console I get to use and try to use it every chance I get, a 360 headset. Much fun to trash talk and crack jokes while playing somebody. But I must admit, most of my trash talk is even humorous to the person I just talked trash to.

We often use teamspeak or vent (which we naturally prefer) to game with others and XFire. We have also used all kinds of other tools... which I'll refrain from sharing here ;) :p
