I see from your ticker that your due date is coming up in less than a week. I just wanted to wish you all the very best for your labor and delivery! Congratulations to you and your husband. It's such a wonderful time in your lives!

Thank you WR and everyone who posted to the thread for thinking of me at this very amazing time.

I am not in labor yet and have no signs of it, lol. My friends keep calling and saying "ok so, you're feeling very uncomfortable right?".."not really"..."ok but you lost your mucus plug, right?"..."nope"..."ok but you're having lots of BH contractions, right?"..."no"...LOL!!!

I haven't even "dropped" yet, and although I know that is not necessary before going into labor, even my doctor is like "wow, that baby is sealed up in their tight - he doesn't seem ready to come out yet!"...

In any event, my doctor will be in London until the 14th so I'm kind of hoping the baby stays put until then, although every day I am also secretly hoping he makes his grand entrance because I absolutely can't wait to meet him. My gut tells me that he's going to be late especially considering I have no labor signs, it's my first pregnancy, and I come from a family of mamas who delivery late babies. Also, I have irregular cycles so my due date is based on ultrasound dating which is not as accurate as due dates that are based on ovulation. So, yea...I'm still here and think I will be for a good while.

Doc says if I'm not near labor by around the 17th he'll induce...and of course if the placenta starts to deteriorate or the amniotic fluid gets low, etc before then we'll do what we have to do. But, for now...the baby looks good and everything is just rolling along.

I went over with 12 days with Karima.. I was so tired of been pregnant (and young and stupid) so I did everything I could to start labor... LOL
I lifted heavy stuff, "ran" up and down stairs, jumped rope (my that wasn't fun)... but she was a stubborn one! On the early morning on the 4th of june I woke up from the beeing wet... the water had broken while I was sleeping :eek: but no signs og me having contractions... She was born late evening the same day!

I'm going for the 13th, according to the Swedes boys that are born on that day get special gifts ;)

I was always late.

Aña was the worst. I was due 8/2/07 and had her 8/19/07. At one point I asked if I could do jumping jacks or ride down a bumpy road to get this labor rolling?

Abdullah will be here in no time now! I can't wait to see his beautiful face! :)

I'm betting on December 7th as it's my niece's birthday (12/18 was my brothers but that's too far away!).

Due dates are funny things. Whilst my son was born on his (3rd March), my daughter was born well past hers :O She was supposed to be born 2nd Feb and finally arrive on 1st March :O I refused to be induced as she was in no distress and I firmly believe in letting nature take its course. She was perfectly healthy and about a week overdue, according to the Dr. Like you my original due date had been arrived at via an scan as I never had a period between delivering my son and conceiving her.

The only effect being overdue has had on my daughter is that she is never on time for anything :rofl:

I would love for him to come on the 7th, but I would be really shocked if that happened.

Doc. is talking about induction b/c he's measuring to his due date on the 7th and even a bit larger - and with my family history of small birth canals and c-sections he doesn't want me trying to squeeze a 10 pound baby out. Of course I am aware that u/s sizing can be WAY wrong (had a friend who was told her baby would weigh THIRTEEN pounds and ended up being a nine pounder)...but, I'm just planning to play everything by ear. My doc. is very open to do what I want to do as long as the baby is healthy so as long as the placenta and amniotic fluid looks good I'm going to let the little guy cook as long as he wants.

Gosh, SOOOOOO close now! How very exciting for you, Amina! Can't wait to "meet" your little man. :) Yay! BABIES! :)

I am looking forward to the arrival of this little person! Lets hope you don't have to be induced or sectioned, but should this happen, I'm sure you'll be fine. My son was born by an emergent c-section. All I wanted was a healthy baby and he was and I was relieved. The recovery wasn't bad at all, really because you are so focused on your new mommyhood! Its gonna be great...I just know it!! :yes:

Well, I had my first baby right on the due date....at 11 in the morning. So don't be too surprised if you don't go weeks over!

I'm excited, really excited. I feel like i have known Amina since back before she was really grown up, if that makes sense.

Well, I had an appointment today...NO news, lol. My cervix isn't even .0001 dilated and it hasn't thinned at all. Baby is head down but still way high inside the womb. Guess he's still relaxing with no immediate plans to make his big debut.
