Have you "outgrown" your screen name?

tinydancer
12-03-2007, 07:40 PM
I was thinking about this lately....
I have been called Tinydancer since that damn song came out lol!
I still feel like "td" is a big part of who I am but....in this last year, so many new things have taken place both physically and mentally in my life that I don't feel like the same ol' td anymore!
If you could....w/o everyone wondering who you are:confused:....what would you change your SN to???

I would not change my screen name because Sheila was my screen name in the Chat Room where I met my bf. What if HE does not recognize me anymore???!!! (j/k)

P.S. He hates the name. :tongue2:

~Guinavere~
12-03-2007, 07:50 PM
TD...yes...like you I have had many changes in my life since I started using the name Guinavere. I would like to change it, though not sure what I would change it to. I try to choose names that reflect an interest I have as well as my personality.

Sheila, I know....that is reason why I will probably never change my sn either.
Guinavere....I have thought about it and I think that between what I have overcome, my passion in saving the ele's and all distressed animals (sometimes at great personal risk) and my nature in general...I would call myself "Little Warrior" or something like that:yes:

I would like to change my name to something that would be totally unacceptable to Ageless, so here I am...just an animal with a number.

And Sheila, I've always wondered, what is the PD you are "4"?

JennyJen
12-03-2007, 08:22 PM
I don't think I'll out grow Jenny Jen being its my nickname by everyone who knows me in real life and well IT'S MY NAME!!!!

I'm not 100% but I think the PD is her bf's nickname so she is "4" her bf!!! If I'm right I am just so good so so good!!! :tongue2:

Yes, you are right, my bf's nickname is Papadoc, I met him under that name in Excite and his name reminded me of the murderous voodoo practicing Haitian Dictator Papadoc Duvalier. On top of that he was pro-Iraq, so I figured he was some sort of evil monster. I PMed him outraged, but he did not know about Duvalier. Papadoc is a rapper in an Eminem movie. The rest is history.

:D

P.S. My current AV is a pic I took in Cristopher Columbus house in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I normally do not take such good pics, I am not Aline. ;)

Well, given that I'm Dave and I live in Los Angeles, I haven't outgrown mine. Nor do I plan to. Although . . . there is ONE other city that always tempts me to move, each time I visit. I could see myself as SFDave. :)

jesique
12-03-2007, 09:43 PM
I don't think I'll ever outgrow jesique. At least I hope I don't!

I have no idea what I would change it to. Probably either Trouble or SierraMyst. :D

Nadine.

Harrison
12-03-2007, 09:51 PM
We will continue to have an Evil Empire that I must help others fight against,
so I will keep the present screen name, Harrison. ;)

Angel
12-03-2007, 09:59 PM
Angel is my actual nickname.

Since it's rarely available simply as 'Angel' (usually some variant of it), I have every intent on taking this nick here at Ageless to the grave with me.

In fact, I want it retired when I go so no one else ever uses it here! :D

LadyInWaiting
12-03-2007, 10:09 PM
yep, you could say I have outgrown mine. I may still be "lady", but I am no longer waiting.:)

Shewolf
12-03-2007, 10:27 PM
Don't think I will ever outgrow Shewolf it kinda suits me :D

Mind you these days Lamewolf or Cripplewolf might be more appropriate :giggle:

12-04-2007, 02:26 AM
When I left Ageless a little over a year ago, I had my membership deleted. When I decided to come back, the name Trish (which is my real name) was being used by someone else. My current name was suggested by some of my friends who consider me the one and only Trish.....lol!

I'm really just plain, old Trish....
I'll never "outgrow" my name. But, when I grow up, maybe I'll be Patricia...which is my full name. :p :D

zoliepup
12-04-2007, 02:36 AM
I guess I should be Catchpup now, but I always loved Zolie's name and I miss her so much... so I keep the name in her honor. She's part of me now.

She really was the best dog ever, and it took 3 1/2 years before I could get another.

Haraio
12-04-2007, 07:49 AM
Nope, I wouldn't change my screen name^^
It's part of my identity, and it's my name everywhere. At every forum I'm on, my name is Haraio. Heck, even a few of the people I play Warhammer with call me Haraio when we meet face-to-face, instead of Håkon :p

Inahnia
12-04-2007, 08:53 AM
I doubt I will outgrow mine, since it has been a part of my "online" personality ever since I started playing online MMORPG's. I have had a character with that name in every game I have been a part of, and it is a deliberate misspelling of Inanna (an ancient mother goddess) and so reflects another part of me...so I guess I'll stick with it. :)

tinydancer
12-04-2007, 09:03 AM
Interesting replies...
Like I said....I would neverchange my sn......been td forever lol.
....since about 1972 or so
Sometimes though ya know....
I am not a ballerina anymore, that's for sure, and since dance doesn't consume my life as much as it us to (thank God)....it seems my name is a part of my past.
Still, it will always be a big part of who I am/was....
Just growing and changes these days.
Blessings, TD

Like Inahnia, Nandara is my gaming name. Both EQ and WoW. My husband's name is Torrast in both games. Nope I can't see either of us changing them.

This thread is not really about "actually" changing your name.....it is too hard to start over, etc....
More about, IF, you were making up an SN for the FIRST time.....would it still be the same???

scott2075
12-04-2007, 11:21 AM
I would totally change mine. Mine is just one of those random names, it really has no personal meaning to it.

marcy
12-04-2007, 11:30 AM
As lame as it is... and it is lame... Marcy is my gaming name too. She's such a big part of my personality that I doubt I'd ever change it. As my sister says about her own gaming ID, she's my alter-ego... me, but maybe me to the 10th power ;)

I can't use Marcy in certain genres so I also use Chanta, Tece, or Dulcinaya (esp when playing with Dev... he'll use Quixote).

kye
12-04-2007, 08:04 PM
Omg, dare I admit...Kye is my gaming name, also. Altho I usually have to make it Kyye. Lol.

joelstrouble
12-04-2007, 11:58 PM
I hardly ever use joelstrouble when i game... then I'm usually called Meduza :D

joelstrouble came to life when I signed up here at ageless... Joel always called me trouble and beause of that I become joelstrouble.

When I met joel online he called himself blood_lust.. he hardly ever call himself that anymore and I miss that :(

Alara

I too am another gamer and the name follows me and it is my alter ego. I have people find online with this name so I would never choose another. Though I might steal one of my ex's gaming name, always liked it. Hmmm but now that he gave me the toon I have the name. lol

Belisama
12-05-2007, 11:35 AM
I think it's fair to admit that, yes, I've outgrown my name. My gaming name is Eithne (pronounced Enya) or Macha (an Irish war goddess). The meaning behind Macha is my favourite but I love the look and sound of Eithne.

I have another name that I use in virtually ALL of my other online activity but I won't share it publicly.

If I were to change my name here, I'd either go with JustKelley or something about clarity. Hm. Better start thinking about it ~smile~ Suggestions are welcome...

*chuckle* yes, yes.. I know but I wanted to get past the "ouch" phase before saying anything. I'm there and ready for a new moniker :)

Make sure it lives up to that sexy new hairdo that I have YET TO SEE!!!:p

legallyblonde
12-05-2007, 01:20 PM
I loved the movie Legally Blonde when it came out, and thought it was so funny and thought Elle was so like me when I was younger. It's actually a hard sn to get because so many people also use it. I do not know what I would change it to at this point, but I'm thinking about doing just that.

am I the only one that doesn't play computer games? LOL

would i change my name? nah...

too many people know me as mano here...

Sometimes people think of me as "Mano" for short rather than my real name. hehe.

On myspace i'm known as "brat" for obvious reasons and on Maria's Rombom site I'm known as "lil ship" for the very same reasons.

Bodhi Tree

am I the only one that doesn't play computer games? LOL

No Paul, you're not the only one. I have never played computer games. Only joined Second Life for a few months and got tired of it very quickly.

I don't post in any other forums, don't have myspace or anything like that.

Tired of Bodhi Tree though. I preferred Loucine. Despite the request on my sig line, some people here still call me Bodhi and I don't like that :( oh well ....

Dan_Shues
12-05-2007, 04:42 PM
Well...considering Dan is my real first name...
And Shues? Part of my email address and a shortened version of my last name. (NO, contrary to popular belief my last name is NOT Shues)

So no, I haven't outgrown it...

It's just what I choose. Somehow, I don't think my other name, "Shueballs" would of gone over very well here. Me thinks anything with the phrase "balls" in it wouldn't go over very well, if ya catch my drift.

I wouldn't say "dirty" but rather "adventurous in the boudoir." ;) Yup, curious minds want to know. :)

He's that narcissistic character from that great BBC tv show "Red Dwarf". It's really a weird, silly, fun sci-fi series from the 90's that's been broadcast off & on PBS stations. I personally like "Cat" who's a human "evolved" version of another character's (Dave Lister) pet cat.
I highly recommend the show if you like Monty Python-type stuff!;)

Now as far as the dirtier meaning of the name???

Peachy
12-08-2007, 12:18 PM
Nope! I'm Peachy everywhere . . . or some form of Peachy with numbers attached :D

LOL . . . Joe started out calling me Peach because of my screen name . . . oddly enough he now calls me either Cabbage or Fish :(

Long story . . .
