Really, trying to make a payment online or on the phone is awful because they don't keep good track of it.
Does anyone else have this problem? I've called two times, and I'm just tired of dealing with them. Too bad they don't allow competes in electricity like they do in phone service or internet!!!!

I have the same problem trying to make a car insurance payment online. I swear Elmer Fudd designed their web page.

You can send it on line through your bank... That's how I do it. Anything that I don't have as a scheduled repeating payment is usually late!

I'm on the phone *waiting* for a supervisor. I"m not staying calm. How can a company this big be so bad at keeping records???

:yes:This is usually when those confimation numbers are a really really good thing. I keep all of mine on file on my external hard drive. Pay online but remember to always always write down that confirmation number.

All companies shut off in winter now. Compliments of our government lifting that little restriction. In fact it feels like their favorite time to shut you off because they know you'll pay up.
Problem is, people usually pay up at the expense of something else they need. Most (not all) people do not avoid paying electric or gas or water because they just don't want to pay.
Sad state of affairs. We punish the poor a lot. :(

But I've paid them by electronic check! They just say that they can't process it as fast as that because it takes two weeks to go out of my checking. What a lie! An electronic check is like going to Wal-Mart where they take your check and then give it back to you. It comes out of your account right away and they don't accept it when there are no funds, like a ;debit card.
What they mean is that their sorry butts haven't gotten their organiziation together enough to process it any faster.
See, I still hate them!

Amen to that! Just like the Citibank credit card company made my first payment late on a new account my husband opened for that zero interest balance transfer thing, so they could then jack the rate back up. I hate them too.
