You all rock...

You know, things have been a bit rough lately for us at our homestead. My s/o recently had surgery and has been really sick and in a lot of pain...and we are still settling into a new house, etc..and he can't work for six weeks ( ) right before Christmas, which has thrown our finances off. So, it's been a tough week or two for us.

And I know we have had some problems around here lately, but seriously, you know what? These past couple weeks when I have needed a good cheering up, or someone to talk to, or to get my mind off things...this is still the first place I come.

Some of my most favorite people in the world are here on this site...people's whose opinions I truly value, and people who I look forward to "seeing" each day.

So...I just wanted to say that even though I have been grouchy lately, etc...I do feel really blessed to have this place where I can get to know so many different people from different countries and cultures with different points of view....and to learn so much from everyone here, and to just share a little bit of my life with you all. I know there are some of you here who don't like me much, and thats cool too...but I just wanted to say that I feel really honored to call most of you my friends, because you all rock!!!

I know, mushy mushy.... :)

Hello Jo!!

I have been away long enough that I haven't heard about your SO. I will keep you both in my prayers!! I hope that he is feeling better soon!

As for Ageless, as great as this place is, it wouldn't be quite as great without you here.:) My thanks to you and the other mods for the care that you all take of this llittle corner of the world wide web.

You are loved JoJo....give that man a hug from me, give yourself one too while you at it.
You know, we moved into our house last year on Christmas day.
We ate our xmas dinner in the form of whatever we could find at the 7/11 LOL

Alta...of course you are one of those people! jajajaja (did I do it right? LOL)

TD...your da bomb, lady. You know that, right? ;) Did you do the chili dog dinner from 7/11? :)

RK- It's so nice to see you back around here. It makes my heart happy. And James will be just fine. Right before we were to move from our old house, he fell down the stairs. And on his way down the stair his arm got caught in the bannister, but I guess the rest of him kept going. So, he tore all the muscles in his arm and damaged his rotator cuff, and had to have surgery on his arm and shoulder. Ever since the surgery he has been just sick as a dog..poor guy. At first the doctor thought it was from anesthesia, and then they thought it was his pain meds...and now we just aren't quite sure. But every day he's a little better...so we'll be good in no time.

Grumpsy...((hugs)) I've been reading your posts in the threads, and you've been such a positive influence...and trying so hard to get people to back up and stop the bickering. I noticed! Thanks...and Im honored to count you among my friends.

Just thanks so much y'all really....I guess there has been so much negative out and about on the site lately, I just wanted to let everyone know I still feel really positive about this place, and all of you. ((hugs))

I'm a smiley girl now!

Amen to everything you just said. 2007 has been the worst year ever for my health, work and my relationship. But, the first thing I do, and the last thing I do everyday is check out what is happening at ageless. While the bad typically overshadows the good, the fact is, the good things that happen here completely outweighs the bad even though it is rarely recognized.

You know I love you, Jody. :bighug:

Absolutely! Life is way too short to hold animosities towards each other. Bickering and fighting just brings negative energy that none of us need.

GG, I appreciate your sense of humor. Your posts always make me smile. :)

Thanks for all you do Jo. I can relate to what happened to James. I was painting my own house to "save money" and fell off the ladder onto my outstretched arm, but I had a wet wash rag (cleaning up the paint off grout and taking off masking tape) so when I landed with my arm extended over my head and flattened out.....I slid my hand on the washcloth until I crashed into the wall, pushing my shoulder in.

Have no health insurance, so I went to doctor for x-rays to make sure nothing broken, and it was assumed from the bruising and fact that I could not lift arm up overhead or out from my body that the rotator cuff was torn.

After two weeks in a sling, it was better, but still very painful, so I got a cortisone shot. The doctor said if that did not help, and MRI and surgery. Sooooo....I've been a very good girl and so far so good.

James sounds like he really got torn up with his accident. Hope he soon feels better. I turned out to have a reaction to the 800 mg of Ibuprofen 3xs a day.

Good luck and again thanks for all you do as a mod.

Joan

You, Jo, are an amazing woman, that is for sure. To go through all that happens here, yet remain positive and still love this place truly proves to us that you are a great choice to help run this joint! Your aplomb and strength of character both behind this screen and in real life are models for every member here. Your mediation skills, to me are above reproach, and I really think you should use them to move up the ladder somewhere in the "real world" like being a union mediator or President! :bgrin2: BUT, I am not sure if Ageless could be put on a resume?? :tongue2:

All my best to you and J....and I will pray for a quick recovery!

Ouch, that sounds like some accident. :(

I had a fall on Saturday, a chair I was stood on collapsed underneath me. Luckily I seem to know how to land when I fall, so I didn't get hurt. I could easily have been unlucky and got my arm or leg caught in the chair on the way down, but I pretty much landed flat on my stomach with the chair folded underneath me! Chairs broken though. :p

Seriously, I'm glad you're okay - you could have really hurt yourself.

OR should I say,

*In her best mother voice* You could have broken your neck, put out your eye, landed on your sister and killed her, AND broke all my good china!
