occurred in Richmond , VA between a 17 yr old YM and a 62 YO woman around 1970. It was written up in the paper, and the publishers of the Richmond News Leader ( a paper now bought out by the Richmond Times Dispatch) had a picture of the happy couple and a feature article. His parents were all for it. His wife was a former Rockette from NY. Apparently, he had married his grandfather's 2nd wife after his granddad died. They looked happy, and she looked trim and agile since she was a former dancer by trade. Hadley
Hi Hadley, Wow! such a rapid reply! Thank you so very much. I was sort of at a loss as to where to find such information. Ii am in the process of writing a story and my partner (with the story) and I are trying to hellp people see that this does work and is actually not as rare as some suppose.
Just looking for some pertinant facts and figures.
Thank you again. If you have any other input I would like to hear from you. I am in such a realationship myself but not that large a gap.
Sincerely

I know you are all sincere with this topic, but IMO
"His wife was a former Rockette from NY. Apparently, he had married his grandfather's 2nd wife after his granddad died."
that is just so gross, boinking someone your grandpa had boinked!!!
Thanks for the reply snow, I admitt that this one is pretty odd alright.......what can I say?
I write and just like to be able to pick up some stats here and there and feel so many of these realtionships work very well so I do advocate that in todays world its is not nearlly as strange as I am sure it was back in the 70's.
I there is any place that I could glean more factual information I would be grateful to get it.
Yes, I am sincere, I am presently in a OW/YM relationship. I do not care for older men, too much bad history with them, I find younger men much more appreciative and interesting and not so narrow minded orr 'pig-headed'.
Just my humble opiinion.
Thanks to hadley and snow, appreciate the response.
Hadley was my mothers maiden name!!!!!!!!!

That is such a sweet story about the Rockette and her ex-stepgrandson falling in love and getting married. It is so touching that family supported them. That would make a wonderful romantic movie. I think that there should be a new "Harold and Maude" type movie made every decade and this story would be perfect for that.

Thanks for the responses here, keep them coming, or if you have any interesting, factual information you would like to enlighten us with, feel free.
I am not serching for personal stories, at least not at this time, perhaps, pro's and con's.
I was accused once on another group of onlly being on it to get stories about people, another writer and I both got attacked for that............the person who was angry wanted us kicked out and writers banned from the group! Whew, that was so far from the truth,
I did publish a day care related book some years ago and I did use the real names and told people that right up front. It was a local interest book but fullly enjoyed!
Stuff happens. Thanks to those who has responded and keep the posts coming!

lived in the Fan District of Richmond, which is more like Greenich Village to NY or Georgetown to DC...a more progressive neighborhood...but I gulped a bit too after reading it and I was in my early 20's at the time...H.
Hi hadley......in your early 20's......bet you did gulp. That is quite a story, but , you know, to each his own. Would be fun to know the entire story.
Good thing we are all different, and there are always a certain amount of circumstances that others do not feel comfortable with.
I would imagine tht there are different ones who would feel very uncomfortable in my situation.
Anyway, its interesting.
